I went one mile from my home and I found this charming park!! I remembered that it was there last night so I took Petey there this morning. We are going to visit this park every morning from now on!! This is what I saw as I stepped out of my car!! Look at all those tall, beautiful trees!! And there's a Madrona tree right up front!! You gotta love the Madrona tree!! In the midst of all these pine trees, the Madrona tree decided this is where it's gonna live, and it moved right in and made this gorgeous park its home!! They just pick where they'll grow and they thrive there!! I think we all should follow their example and be like a Madrona tree in spirit!!

I love their red color and their peeling bark!!

This beautiful Madrona tree just inserted itself among the towering pine trees and it's living its best life!! With the help of my dear friend, @annejoyblog , I have decided that the Madrona tree is my spirit tree. I don't know if that's a thing, but it is now!! That shows that I'm thinking like a Madrona tree, doesn't it!!😁🤣😍🌲🪾🌞❤️🫂🏡🎉🎊🌈

Red-osier dogwood is a shrub that grows easily in Quebec. It likes wetlands and we plant it to prevent erosion of waterway banks. Later in spring, it will blooms small white flowers bouquet. These flowers will eventually transform in berry-like white fruits, which have not a good taste. They are not considered really as edible, but native americans ate them. The main esthetic interest in red-osier dogwood resides in its bark color, an intense red. This crimson bark is visible from afar when the shrubs are grouped. It colors Quebec's non-cultivable fields from late autumn to early spring.
