Prologue: In the Five Years
The usual four suspects stepped out of the Gate.
“This looks like the ruins of a church.” Reda observed.
“The Fire Emblem Cluster sure is strange world...” Tilith said. “Er, group of worlds. Renny, what did you say this one was called?”
“Fodlan.” Ren replied. “Or at least, that’s where we are now, according to my scans before we came here.”
“Can you tell what happened here?” Lugina asked her. Ren’s eyes turned silver and she stood as still as a statue for a few brief moments. She blinked, eyes returning to purple.
“A large battle. Many people in black uniforms fought against an army dressed in red.”
“Can you tell who won?” Reda asked. Ren shook her head.
Lugina crossed his arms. “That sounds like something we’re gonna have to get out of someone who lives here.”
“Do you think the people here even know about other worlds?” Tilith asked.
“If they don’t, we’re gonna have to be careful, even if this world changed our clothes.” He answered.
Tilith looked down at herself and saw her new white and light green dress. “Oh, they did!” She looked at everyone else. Lugina’s armor remained mostly the same, just that his shoulder armor seemed larger. Ren’s longcoat seemed to have turned into an outfit with large sleeves and only one of her legs was covered. And Reda...was missing her knives, for one, replaced by a sword and bow. And her red, white, and brown battle gear was noticeably more armored at the shoulders. “You don’t look too comfortable, Reda.”
“I’m not used to having armor. At all.” She admitted. She turned to Ren. “You don’t suppose we could trade?”
“Dunno. I don’t know what skills this world’s given me yet.”
“That’s fair. I’ll see if I can get used to this.”
“I think it’s time we got out of here before anything happens.” Lugina suggested. The other three agreed and they made their way outside.
On their way out, they discovered that the church was attached to some kind of academy, and the outside the academy looked just as war-ravaged as the inside. They resolved to find out what could have happened for such a place to be attacked.
“There’s...three different regions this area is divided into. One to the south, one to the north, and one to the east.” Ren confirmed as they stood in the ruins of the courtyard.
“We should split up. It’ll make us less suspicious.” Lugina said. “And remember: keep your identities a secret unless they know about other worlds. Until then, say you’re a traveler from a nameless village or something. And I’ll go north.”
“I’ll take the south.” Ren said.
“I’ll head to the eastern region, then.” Reda added. “Tilith, what about you?”
“You guys never said there was a western region.” Tilith noted. “So, I’ll go to wherever that is!”
“It’s part of the southern region’s territory.” Ren said. “That’s why.”
“Oh, I see. That means we’ll be able to cover it quicker!”
After saying their farewells, the four took off in their directions to solve what mysteries Fodlan had to offer.
