        oh. bea tries not to look too disappointed, it’s just---well, she thought speedy would be here tonight, and they could practice knife-throwing, or just talk. it’s nice, she thinks, to have that kind of attention from someone; trust is still a fragile thing, easily broken, but bea thinks she trusts her. more than she trusts anyone else, at least...though that’s not difficult. bea keeps her trust locked away from people, not daring to let it out.  ❮ sorry. i’m waiting. for my... ❯ they’re not friends, she doesn’t think --- bea doesn’t have a word for what they are --- but she does know that she doesn’t want anyone else hanging around. she’d rather be alone.  ❮ someone. ❯
