Jewel Tones: From the Red Carpet to Your Closet
Now that we’ve gotten a glimpse of some of the trends we might see throughout award season it’s time to translate some of these high fashion trends into everyday (or night) looks!
When it comes to color schemes jewel tones have to be one of my favorites! The color scheme is rich and beautiful and classic but not in a boring way. Emerald is probably the easiest of the jewel tones to incorporate into your everyday style because it pops without being overpowering but really when it comes to your favorite jewel tone its personal preference.
Try a shift dress
A shift dress, plain or with a print, is a great way to bring rich jewel colors into your wardrobe. The shift silhouette tends to be a more casual yet depending on the fabric it can be dressed up or down! (Photo: Howtochic)
Add a Top
Add a jewel toned top to an otherwise neutral outfit, the top takes this, what could be kind of boring outfit and brings it to life. (Photo: Aelida, Stylecaster)
Outerwear that POPS
Winter is such a fun time of the year for fashion because of all the coats and layering we get to do but don’t get stuck in a rut of dark greys and blacks, just because the weathers a little stormy doesn’t mean you have to be. Try a fun coat like this Citrine yellow trench to brighten up your look. (Photo: Pinterest)
Just like adding a top, a magenta jewel tone blazer brings your black and white ensemble to another level. (Photo: Aelida)
Perfect for date night!
Give your LBD a break and change up your date night look. If you’re feeling daring gold for a bold jewel like ruby or magenta.
This bold tone is sure to turn heads! Get the look
Feeling sexy? The dark, rich hue of a ruby is the perfect color to help set the mood! This lace dress would be perfect for an extra special date night.
If you’re not quite ready to go full on color try a more subtle, yet still rich, jewel tone like emerald, amethyst, or sapphire.
This midnight sapphire blue dress is bold in a subtle way and with the right accessories could go from day to night!
Staying closer to familiar territory, this rich purple allows you to step away from black without feeling uncomfortable.
Jewel Tones don’t stop at apparel either! These tones are amazing for nail color, accessories, and of course who doesn’t love a ruby red lip!

These are just some of the many ways to bring life to your wardrobe with jewel tones so have fun, play around with colors and pieces you maybe wouldn’t typically go for and let the magic happen! Don’t forget to check back next Thursday for more ways to incorporate red carpet trends into your everyday life!.
Happy Styling!
