CONFESSION:
I know I'll get hate for this but I really liked Inquisition's Redcliffe. When I saw the ruins of old Redcliffe it hit me with the realization the old land would not be rebuilt upon. There were undead. There were darkspawn. Its only natural people would have zero interest in rebuilding on the old land. I also think it was right that Redcliffe would look different after ten years. I do appreciate the effort made into making Redcliffe Castle as similar as possible given the game engine's constraints. Too many in this fandom can't deal with change. And as much as I would love to see a rebuilt Denerim or Kirkwall, I am relieved the developers are moving forward because far too many would complain if they had done that.
So I was just vibing ... playing my Wardenquisitor ... doing “In Hushed Whispers”. When I realized, halfway through the future sequence, that I was in Redcliffe Castle ... fighting abominations ... Connor killing himself ... all this horror done to protect an only son ...
Needless to say, Daren was already having a bad time. And THEN Fox reminded me:
“Hey, in this AU he romanced Leliana right?”
Y’ALL
The torture chamber sequence was hard enough, but I had completely forgotten that when Leliana sacrifices herself, she turns and looks the Inquisitor dead in their EYES as she is GUTTED.
i am suffering
So how did Redcliffe go?
...it went fine.
