Sunlight, streaming through the panes of her windows, stained red by her curtains, coming through her eyelids to awaken her.

Azula shifted, not quite ready to get up. Despite the seeming lateness of the hour, judging by the position of the sun, she didn’t feel completely rested. And her legs were sore. Why should her legs be sore? Azula attempted to recall the previous day, whether she had done any stretching, but the thought seemed unimportant, and she let it drift away.

A few lazy moments later, Azula stretched out her legs, only to bump into something. Her eyelids fluttered open again and she sat up. 

Zuko was asleep next to her. His hair was falling over his face, covering his scar completely; she almost felt the need to brush his bangs away to check that the wound was still there.

It was around that time that she realized she was naked underneath the sheets and, judging from his bare chest, so was Zuko.

"Wake up," she snarled, one hand pulling him up by the hair. "Wake up, Zuko.”
