”On behalf of all the New Directions, some of which didn’t bother turning up for reasons that I haven’t been permitted to tell you, I’d like to welcome you to our family”

The couple of members that had turned up give a short clap, though it sounds fairly hollow in the large choir room so Blaine adds in as much enthusiasm that he can with a bigger smile and harsher applause - hoping that it makes her feel welcomed.

Though her people skills aren't as good as they could be yet, Rapunzel can feel the slight awkwardness in the room, and though one student - whose name she unfortunately forgot - is trying hard to make her feel welcomed, he can't control the other's reaction.

Family isn't a notion she's comfortable with either, and yet she simply nods, an excited smile making its way onto her features.

" Thank you, I'm really looking forward to sing with you. "
