"Kono. Really.” It’s more of a question than it sounds like. Dio looks up from the script he’s been poring over--editing, really, the proof is on his ink-stained fingers, but he just can’t let the show veer off because of a few bad word choices--besides, it’s not like this the part of the script Kono had been working on--and he considers it. Considers Kono, tied up in the bedroom, probably sweaty and panting and frustrated. Considers Demi, with only her profile to him right now, haloed in the light behind her.Considers Kono again, still tied up and alone in the bedroom.

And can’t quite put it together.

Talk about the Broship of Dio and Nani. Also, the newer sexy ship one I'm seeing with Meg?

{ The Nani-Dio broship is entirely one of my favorite things ever. I especially love watching the trends in it! It started at Nani’s audition for the role of Sally with Dio very much like “who does this bitch think she is?” but also seeing some real opportunity...for himself. (Chaotic Good is still chaotic, people.) He was genuinely impressed with her talent and took him under his wing, and for a very long time felt super fatherly and paternal towards her. And then he kind of backslid into being her best friend. (Well. He thinks he’s her best friend. You’d have to ask Em who Nani’s best friend is.) I say “backslid” because he was really planning on being like a dad to her--I think he got a little deflated on the idea and let it slack off when she started talking about her real dad.Dio and fathers. He’s...a little bitter.Anyway.Now that Dio’s dating marrying her father, he’s trying to claw his way back up into that paternal esteem of hers. It’s not going so well for him, because Nani just isn’t able to un-see or un-live a lot of the little things that made them friends and not relatives. I think she still respects him like a father, though. Just not to his face, much to our collective joy!

What’s kind of neat about this friendship is that even though we haven’t really RP’ed it there yet, a lot of this connection carries over into our TV!verse! See, Nani actually works as a co-star on Dio Divine!. She’s a recurring character, a girl-next-door archetype in the big denim overalls with the colorful shits. You know the type. She’s not exactly a season-regular, ever, but she is a fan-favorite, and on the show has covered topics like racial diversity, adoption, working together, acceptance of others, and strife between siblings--which is perhaps most notable because the girl playing her younger sister is none other than Stephanie Harvester. Dio and Nani are still very close friends in this verse--best friends, even. They share a very close connection and Dio is always happy to push for greater and greater successes for Nani, even if that means moving past him and going further than he could. (He also does this in our base!verse, but he gets a lot moodier about her “leaving him behind” there than he does here.)

I’d love to give you more on the Meg thing, but I’m as new to it as you are. It just sort of happened?, but that’s life! They’re just a pair of Sassy Sue’s together that...apparently...screw sometimes. I know it’s eventually going to get romantic and I’m excited to watch that part evolve, because I don’t think it’s quite as clear-cut as it looks from the outside. If Dio decides he’s in with someone, everything changes. See also: literally everyone else on this blog he has ever dated. }

{ Okay, but?? I kind of don’t?? I assume it’s just the FC. A lot, and I mean a lot, of people take one look at this blog and go “Alan Cumming = Dionysus, it makes perfect sense!”Especially knowing you as I do, my love, I assumed Alan was the first reason you followed. Well.That and hey look!, I’m playing an Olympian as existing over the age of 30, how incredibly unique. (--That seems to be particularly rare for Dionysus, actually. Like. As rare for him as for Apollo, Artemis, Persephone. Which on the one hand makes sense and on the other hand has me scratching my head.)

But, I mean, it’s not like you actually can say anything at this point. As my best friend you are task with the insurmountable feat of keeping my ego in check, which means saying nice things is off the table for you. ;) }

"Happy Father's day, Dio!" He's getting a kiss to the cheek this year. She forgot to buy him something, but Kono asked her to say a few words at the wedding, so she figured that was a sufficient present.

“Aww, happy father’s day, kiddo.” It went over his head in the moment--not exactly his day of his choice, for all the obvious reasons--and he even leaned in closer to give her better access to his cheek before he realized what was going on. He turned to her with a grin and a laugh, brow furrowed. “--Well. That was unexpected. Are you going to call me your second father now?”

Maybe he shouldn’t be teasing her. But he was in a good mood.

See where she grew-up, get a feel for where the good vibes were born, get a look at her in a bikini, go to an authentic luau and hula dance or something. Y’know. Local stuff,” D finished with a grin.

“I am not a man to go down on my knees in public. –Until I am. Preferably in a restroom in the back of some kitschy tiki-bar Kono frequents when I’m in town just after the midday lunch rush.

“But don’t take that as some awe-striking admission of the lengths I’d go to for that man. Truth is, if he stopped in the middle of the fucking street and told me to suck him off, I’d be on him before he had time to blink.”

“I’m not saying no,” he replies, closing his eyes and smiling at the ceiling now. “I’m just saying, I’m going to be disappointed if you ask and don’t carry through, Miss Nani Fine.”

"I know this is an awkward situation and I apologize so much for it right now. I'll just linger in the bathroom for the time being out of sight to not cause anymore embarrassment for either of us. As for my clothes, I can pass them to outside the bathroom door. I'm not sure how much you can salvage from them but my hotel key is in the pocket. Room 209. Worse comes to worse you can go there and grab something there." he offered.

He didn't want to be the center of embarrassment but there he was standing without much of a choice without a scrap of decent clothing on him since his were too degraded to use. Sam didn't want to destroy anything of Nani's after all as he held much more respect for her than that.

Moving, he made a move for the bathroom where he could use the door as a shield to keep out of sight for a while. He made certain to slip out the scorched remains of his shirt and pants to the floor before he closed the door to help calm the odd situation of it all.

"I'm sorry for all of this, Nani." he yelled from the room.
