I recently read A Marvellous Light on the advice of a friend and within the space of a few days I had paid for a preorder of the sequel and bought and mailed a new copy to a different friend. A third now has the audiobook. :)

I know you've received plenty accolades but wanted to bring you news of our little localized grenade, lol. the news is spreading! Thank you for writing, we're all enjoying it/enjoyed it very much.

localised grenades of enjoyment are the absolute best way for news to spread about a book. not kidding! word of mouth is SO POWERFUL! I wish you and your friends great glee and happy reading.

(and I am never going to ruin anyone's preferred mental image of my characters when it comes to something as benign as facial hair, so please imagine robin with WHATEVER MOUSTACHE YOU WISH)

I am so obsessed with the atmosphere of Gods in the Gaslight , by @antikate and @redfacesmiley.  It really makes you feel like you’re in an old theater lit by gas lamps, or wandering through the late night mists of 19th century London.

Gods in the Gaslight  is part Prestige pastiche and part Good Omens AU (Or is it an AU? Read it and decide for yourself!). If you haven’t read it yet, run, don’t walk to AO3!

A little illustration for the fanfic “A Treatise on Food Waste, Original Sin, and Other Assorted Societal Problems” by @redfacesmiley​ to celebrate the fact that I finally finished translating it into Russian :) This is one of the most beautiful, gentle and clever stories in the GO fandom so I ecourage you to read it if you haven’t already! Make sure to have something tasty to eat nearby, because this fic gives you some cravings..

I'm ngl, watching you fall into the SPN pit has made me laugh out loud more than once. excellent commentary, 10/10

I have NEVER experienced such a wholehearted desire to do three seemingly incompatible things at once: a) immerse myself entirely in a fandom, b) delete wholesale some elements of a fandom from my knowledge (WHAT the FUCK is this post that @sixohsixoheightfourtwo just sent me) and c) never actually have to watch this show

ldfjdsadfasdflk I spent an extended amount of time in Ireland in my wild youth and the misadventures of me + various Irish names walked the full spectrum. I traveled from point a: horribly offending people to z: finally getting it decently right and having people confide in me about how other Americans were horribly offensive about it

it’s impossible to get all irish names right the first time even when you do get a hang of their pronunciations because there are four very distinct dialects of the irish language and most of them have very different ways of pronunciation

some names, like aodh or colm or beatha, will have the same pronunciations no matter who you talk to

but thinking especially about names like caoimhe and saoirse, which are very common girls’ names, like... i’ve heard caoimhe as keeva, kweeva, kayva; i’ve heard saoirse as seersha, sorsha, sairshe, seerka, sorka, sairke, etc etc

honestly the main beef with americans that i have, and the beef that most people in the world have with americans, is when they make no effort, pat themselves on the back for the huge effort they believe they’re making, and often call themselves irish or whatever despite being american

if you’re one of the americans people will trust with “oh fucking god, americans” talk then you’re definitely one of the good ones, haha

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

*nervous laughter* I was talking about this with my beta recently, and the short answer is no. I don’t read enough Literature to be influenced that way, really (I know I should, yadda yadda, but I just want to spend my limited free time reading fanfic tbh). And while there are authors that I admire a great deal ( @seaskystone and @rahirah for their wit and plotting and gorgeous clean prose, @mia-ugly’s ability to pace and plot and come for my feels, @drawlight‘s innovation, Bewildered’s unbridled humour) I’ve never tried to write like anyone but myself.

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

I don’t think I ever met a trope I didn’t like :) In fact one of my favourite things is to play with tropes, take them Very Seriously or invert expectations somehow. And in my reading material I LIVE for tropes. So. No.

@redfacesmiley It’s from the report from SXSW (x) where they showed a couple of scenes from Good Omens :). Gabriel visits Aziraphale in his shop and: 

Hamm is doing some of his best comedic work here, as he tries to blend in with the human crowd by asking to purchase pornography very loudly.

Uhm, so yes, we will see the great archangel Gabriel trying to by pornography :D.
