I don’t know everyone.

I think if you liked the ending and you got something from it, I’m very happy for you. No bashing anyone who liked it! Seriously the ping ponging of love and hate and slandering both sides of the argument is not a good look for us.

there was a lot of it i liked and a lot of it i think had good bones that were merely crushed under the weight of condensing six episodes down into 90 minutes

i liked that they got to choose and i liked that they chose humanity

i liked that they got an "in every universe" ending

i think jesus' story obviously was crushed into the one scene on the street and i would have liked to have seen more of his journey and experiences and more of that vibe in the ending

however

to have a moment where you directly acknowledge on screen that this is where the kiss goes, this is the moment, this has the gravity to need that physical affection, where they need to reach for each other because of all that love, all the way down to acknowledging that it's aziraphale's turn to do the reaching

and then have that expression step back from where they'd already been in s2 into this extremely childish fingertips thing

is such a bizarre and egregiously bad choice i am legit almost too stunned to discuss it. like you already put kissing on the table, it has already been done, you're explicitly acknowledging that this moment warrants that level of physical expression and communication, and instead of following through, you do??? the thing my nine year old nephew does to give kisses to his sister??? LITERALLY? sorry i just. cannot with that. that's a no from me. passing that moment back across the table like a soiled napkin no thanks very much at all. i simply shan't be dealing with any of that

If you listen carefully, I bet you can hear these two making the tiniest toast right here in the bookshop. They will be around forever, zipping between universes, creating them and messing them up, each time a different world but always finding, choosing and loving each other. And probably the Crowley and Aziraphale of our time are Michael and David :")

I know many of us will need time to process all of this but remember we all have tons of blank pages to fill

It feels so strange to close this chapter. So many things have changed since 2019, and thanks to GO, I've met people I couldn't imagine not having in my life ❤️

So it turns out I wrote a fix it fic (sort of) for Good Omens Season 3...all the way back in August of 2019. What a funny twist of the world. Read it here if you like!

(It feels weird linking such an old fic, especially since I have grown as a writer a lot since I wrote it, but I still have a soft spot for it as my first ever multi chapter fic. And I think it fits the vibes of the current fandom moment!)
