Ok she just couldn't do it anymore, her grim frown falling into a wide smile before she burst out laughing, clutching her side. "Am- am sorry, could not resist!" She smacks his back in good nature, making sure he doesn't go falling forwards before giving him a quick hug, ruffling his hair once she lets go. "Sorry sorry, es just so tempting," she says, practically beaming at the man, hoping he wasn't TOO sore. "Am very vell! Happy to be back and see you as vell, doktor."
Realizing that she was kidding this entire time, Aldous let out a sigh of relief. For some reason he thought he had irked Markov which, in turn, had upset Katya. Though he was friends with her lover, you couldn’t really tell if Aldous had done something to get her upset. After all, a short while ago they were enemies.
Cracking a nervous grin himself, he couldn’t help but let out a low, dark chuckle. “I had a feeling you’d do something like that.”
Okay, he admitted it. The prank, that little act she pulled, was a classic. Now he was really laughing. Maybe her own laugh was infectious. Maybe he was actually losing it again. Who really knew with the crazy devil of Coldfront?
Wagging a finger at her, he jokingly chided her. “You had me going.” Another chuckle, and he loosened up. “Mmmm, good to be back. Zhe entire base is probably groaning at my return. But it’s good to know someone actually is happy I have returned. It’s good to see you, though.” He nodded, truth shimmering in his next choice words. “Honestly, zhe base wouldn’t be zhe same without you and Alexei.”
