stolen from @musezieren but disclaimer: these opinions are my opinions because i'm an rpc old who is very tired and has seen some shit or three. none of this pertains to anyone on my dash because i booted the offenders ages ago. ymmv.

🚩there's still a tremendous amount of racism and bigotry in the rpc, and people get a pass if they're the current rpc / fandom darling even when being gross. the example i'm gonna use is from my own personal experience but it's like this: there was an oc in the marvel fandom - i think they may even still be around i swear i've seen their url a time or two recently - that was just the perfect manic pixie dream girl with a ship that everyone had to stomach with a popular marvel character at the time, and you know live and let live, it was whatever on the surface except she was gleefully whitewashing the hell out of an indigenous faceclaim (and this matters to me, because the faceclaim was half cherokee and i'm cherokee) and said they'd do better and then...didn't. and nothing ever came of it, they posted an oh i'm so sorry thing and...continued to whitewash the hell out of their indigenous faceclaim. so, hey, unpopular opinion time: when the indigenous folks in the rpc tell you to knock off doing shit that directly pertains to them and their actual lives, fucking stop. and if you see this happening and continue to support it because "she looks white" anyway, maybe fuck all the way off. (i still seethe when i think about this tbh.)

🚩the top/bottom dichotomy is stupid. gender ain't binary and neither is what most people do in the bedroom. sure, i'd argue a lot of people lean a certain way in that, you'll never hear me say different, but shockingly it's not a hard and fast rule that people slot into like lego pieces. side rant: there's a wide canyon between mlm representation and fetishizing male queerness, and some of the rpc needs to learn the damn difference.

🚩i've said this before but i literally won't even follow people that literally never write with characters of any gender than the one they would like to ship with. so, you know, male characters only writing with other male characters, female characters only writing with male characters...which, to be fair, if you just wanna write shippy shit and nothing but shippy shit? awesome, i'm glad you've found your niche. but it ain't me and we aren't gonna jive, because i'm sure you've noticed i am very particular about anything beyond platonic relationships. i got a character that knows goddamn everybody, it'd be weird just on principle if i only wrote with [specific thing] characters. and i don't like feeling like that's all the value i have to a writing partner, is as wish fulfillment because of who i write.

+ ( Where to begin when talking about Shaye , otherwise known to the RPC as the lovely @redhead-reporter ? I do not think there is honestly a person I consider myself luckier to have in my corner than Shaye . Not just as a writing partner and a fellow MJ lover, but as a friend . I do not say that lightly, nor do I consider it to be lip-service , but I speak it with every ounce of my being . Shaye is kind, she is genuine, and I honestly feel she is a wonderful, wonderful person to talk to OOC. I have struggled a lot with my mental health over the past year, and without her help, I do not feel that I would be doing as better as I have been .

Gosh, and as someone who writes Mary Jane ? Listen, she blows me out of the water on most days ! The life she brings to MJ is so awe inspiring , and it makes my heart warm to see someone do her the justice that she as a character deserves and then some ! There is not a post out there that she's made that hasn't had the very soul and essence of Mary Jane Watson in it . Every time there is a reply from her, I feel that I'm looking at something with the real MJ behind it. Her writing embodies MJ to the absolute maximum and then some !

i have never liked anything casually so if there is a fantasy/sci fi series i WILL mold my whole life around it. pj/o, shadowhunter/s, th/g, *mumbles* twiligh/t, all of those i spent a considerable amount of brainpower on. i sadly fell off the book grind during college so haven't read much aside from comics in a while, but most of those have a special lil place in my heart

VERY many!!! truly the reason i've stayed around so long and the majority of my enjoyment is the connections i've made with some truly wonderful people!!! hailey ( @appleyed ) is my bestie for the restie and i've told her every waking thought i've ever had for the past 7 ish years (math check lol). my beloveds @ownmidnight , @failrobin , @proditeur , @hopeforce , @motelhours , @roysenal , @webheadedhero, tara, carrie, insu, sim are all people i hold very near and dear to my heart <3

THE BAT wasn’t a big believer in fate. There was already too much in the universe out of their control to add one more thing to it. But it must be chance, purely off hand logistics, that lands him on the roof of MJ’s building with a scrape against his side and a bullet through his shoulder. 

If he’d landed in New Jersey, this would be easier. He knew every sewer line and every short cut that could lead him back to the manor and in Alfred’s tender loving care. But he’s stuck in Brooklyn and New York’s finest is already on their way with helicopters. 

Shit luck is what it is. 

Somehow, he maneuvers himself down the fire escape and through her window. Landing just on the floor beside her bed without even breaking a thing. A feat in itself he hoped she might appreciate before he’s pushing himself up to an opening door. His figure a dark silhouette against the window bathed in streetlights and the piercing glowing gaze from his lens the only outlier. 

     “ Do you have a first aid kit? “

Yet the little girl had zonked out almost immediately and was now sleeping on Peter's chest while he tried to keep her from waking up while holding an awkward conversation with the child's mother.

Glancing down at the sleeping baby, Peter smiled softly.

"She's really something... she looks like you."
