Cenare dentro la storia di noi #latini #bevagna #umbria questo posto emozionante occupa un tratto, perfettamente conservato, degli ambulacri maggiore e minore del #teatro romano di #Bevagna ( l’antica Mevania ) costruito nel primo secolo dopo Cristo, presumibilmente sotto l’imperatore #Traiano, in una felice stagione che vide lo “status” di municipio romano estendersi a molte città umbre e registrò in tutta la regione quell’eccezionale fervore di opere che distingue i cicli economici finalmente prosperi. L’ambulacro era un ampio corridoio interno che ospitava prevalentemente gli spazi tecnici del teatro; sono stati individuati tratti murari che fungevano da pareti di cisterne per acqua, presumibilmente funzionali ad esigenze di scena. La capienza del teatro è stata calcolata in ben 8000 posti. Dove si pranza ai tempi era la corsia d’accesso al palco ove transitavano carrozze e figuranti prima di entrare in scena.. ecco anche spiegata la sua forma a semicerchio. (presso Ristorante Redibis)

L’Orto degli Angeli celebrates the traditional wine and food event in Umbria

from September 23 – 26

  Bevagna, September 16, 2010 – At L’Orto degli Angeli in Bevagna, the prime specialty being served is pasta. From September 23-26 in Foligno, during the event “I Primi d’Italia”, Redibis restaurant opens the doors of its extraordinary setting to those who wish to indulge in pasta specialties, celebrating the tradition in Umbria of fine dining.

Chef Antonio Falcone will prepare dishes chosen from “First Courses at the Mongalli home” which were inspired by authentic family traditions, lovingly described in the book “Recipes of the Angeli”.

“Pasta will be used to create everything from appetizers to desserts. For many, this is like a dream come true since pasta often represents the essence of dining,” says Chef Antonio Falcone of the Redibis restaurant. 

During the event, streets, squares and taverns in beautiful historic buildings are converted into spectacular kitchens where pots of boiling pasta are being prepared in many different ways.

In these Villages of Gusto, one can taste dishes based on traditional or creative recipes made with pasta, gnocchi, polenta, rice, soup or ravioli: all skillfully served with typical farm products, essential ingredients for these dishes.

L’Orto degli Angeli is run by the aristocratic Angeli Nieri Mongalli family, who has lived here since 1788. The original charm of the architectural compound has been preserved throughout time, giving its guests a genuine feel for Umbria during their stay.

The historic Residence is made up of 14 rooms in two buildings, Palazzo Andreozzi and Palazzo Alberti as well as the fascinating restaurant “Redibis”, which stands on the ruins of a 1st century A.D. Roman theater. The new addition to the Antonini home is the recently opened “Forno degli Angeli” pizzeria serving true Umbria pizza, born of ancient family recipes and prepared with quality ingredients from the Residence’s garden and typical products of the surrounding territory.
