July 21, 2016 - Bronze-winged Parrot, Bronze-winged Pionus, or Bronze-wing Pionus (Pionus chalcopterus)
Requested by: @flockdynamics
These parrots are found in parts of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Their wild diet is not well-known, but is probably mostly fruits and seeds. Like most parrot species, they nest in tree cavities. When upset, they sometimes make gasping or wheezing noises. Though they are classified as a species of Least Concern, habitat loss in parts of their range have caused declines in their population.
