redlotuszaheer liked the motherfucking thing
It probably wasn't a great idea to come alone-- but Korra figured this was her problem. She had to come in terms with what happened all those years ago, and that was something she had to do on her own. But something about seeing the looming tower up ahead that triggered a memory inside of her.
That sensation of falling into an abyss, her lungs collapsing as the oxygen was forced out of her. But it went as quick as it came, and she forced her breaths through her nostrils and lips as she forced herself to make the long trek to the penitentiary.
The guards stationed there were just as reluctant about her visit, but they took her word and allowed her to pass through the shaft. And then absolute silence followed until the floor rumbled beneath her and descended down into the dark depths of the earth.
Finally, it came to a complete stop and the door slid open to reveal the vast space before her-- the containment keeping Zaheer imprisoned and shackled to the ground forever. And her memory was failing her... this was not the man she faced those three years ago. He was different, but definitely the same face that haunted her dream for the past three years.
Just do this-- just get over it. And with the motivation of her own words, she took a few steps forward, her hands balled into fists tightly at her sides as she tried hard to keep her composure.
