Grell and Marlowe had had a fight. It started with an iverly friendly co-worker of hers who kept wanting to be closer the normal to her. Marlowe had gotten angry and fought with the other reaper in a fist fight. So Marlowe won just barely and in a jealous rage called her a cheater. Now Grell had tried to drown her pains in a bottle of scotch. A man approached her and it her pain followed him. The man pushed her against the alley wall ignoring her protests. "M-Marlowe help," she screamed crying.
Strangely enough, for once Marlowe hadn't gotten drunk after a fight with someone. Maybe because it was a fight with Grell and he knew he deserved the pain. What he'd done was horrible, and he deserved to be punished for it. However, as he was walking home (mostly to try and think of a plan to apologize to Grell), he heard someone crying out from the alley. Recognizing the voice as Grell, he didn't hesitate to run down. "Grell!!"
