“You’re undermining my intelligence by saying I’d let them control me. You’re insulting my family by calling my brothers idiots , liars and savages! “ John wasn’t crazy. He had a temper, a violent one , but he wasn’t crazy. Jacob was aggressive but he was a smart man who’d been through more than the rest of them. Joseph , well, he knew what he was doing. He’d never directly lied to people, but he knew how to craft words in his favor.
They did a lot of bad things , but the escalation was partially due to Jane’s involuntary starting of the collapse. It was all a clusterfuck and Jane was the one who started it , and would end it.
“Our relationship is a mutual one based on trust , I’ve seen firsthand what they’re doing to stop the violence. No one is going behind my back and I’d appreciate you stop insulting them.” It was mostly true , there were a few secret talks between secondary commanders but Jane had her eyes and ears out , listening and watching. As for the stopping of violence, John had personally stood down to the town of falls end, signing his ranch to the people. It was far from over , but it was a good beginning.
“ I really thought we were friends. I really did. We were each others wingmen boshaw,now I don’t know what’s going to happen now.” Jane crossed her arms and backed away from the door she was trying to exit out of. If things got dicey , Jane could push her bookcases down and run out her back door. Hopefully , though, it would never come to that.
