Elementary sags a little in season 3 but do stick with it because it makes such a strong comeback in s4 and s5. Really good, interesting weekly mysteries and top-notch characterisation. The sensitivity shown towards controversial/topical issues is one of the best things about the show - things aren't gratuitously exploited in the name of drama. And, oh yes, Lucy Liu is criminally under-appreciated as an actress. She is fantastic.
mm, good to know. maybe i’m just procedural trash, but i do love a detective show that focuses on Detectiving (with emotional bits in; see also: that time i was 150% obsessed with Law and Order: Criminal Intent). what i’ve watched, i’ve loved, i’m just bad at keeping up with shows. and yeah, like, there’s a sensitivity there - like not a delicate or Gritty™ thing but a fuller, this-is-the-real-world understanding of what it’s portraying.
Lucy Liu is the highlight she’s why i started watching. she’s such a good Watson. beyond the standard straight-man act there’s a vulnerability there that’s. so nice. she nails the role, absolutely.
