Peony season almost passed me by! I bought one bouquet here in Austin before our trip to Germany about two weeks ago and when I looked at Whole Foods for peonies last weekend they had none anymore! I am so glad, I at least I got to enjoy these beauties in my house once this spring. The variety I bought had the biggest and „poufiest“ blooms I have ever seen here in the cut flower trade in the US. The color was such a beautiful dark cerise red that my camera picked up poorly, but you get the gist of it. This peony variety reminded me of a trip to the Loire Valley in France where I bought a similar peony bouquet at a market. I distinctly recall it sitting on the garden table while we were enjoying the best French cheeses and a wonderful Rose Wine. Isn’t it amazing how memories stay with us? I am still unpacking my suitcases from our trip to Germany. It is amazing what can be fit in just two suitcases! And I have to admit I bought a lot of things in addition to packing my whole household to begin with. Anybody else out there is a suitcase unpacking procrastinator? Happy Monday, I hope a good week is waiting for you! #peony #peonies #redpeony #redpeonies #red #flowers #flower #redflower #redflowers #redbloom #redblooms #organicgardendreams #flowersofinstagram #cutflowers #cutflower #flowerphotography #flowerphoto (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQGYSwZH7dh/?utm_medium=tumblr
