Hello! I'm very sorry to message you out of nowhere, but I saw your post about Nazi co-opting of Heathen imagery and I thought to ask you. Do you know if ᚱ has been co-opted by any Nazi or white supremacist (or really, any unsavory) groups? It's held personal meaning to me for a while now, and it would be unfortunate if it has. Please don't feel obliged to do any research or go out of your way on my behalf, I'm just curious. Thank you in advance!

Short answer: No, Raido hasn’t been particularly co-opted.

Long answer: Objectively speaking, you won’t find a single Norse symbol, concept, or term that hasn’t been used by white nationalists in some manner. The appropriation of Norse paganism began before the rise of Nazi Germany more than a hundred years ago.

However, white nationalists rely on the fact people drop symbols the minute they start getting associated with white nationalism, but if people resist this makes co-opting way harder. This is why it’s so important for Heathens to wear mjolnirs in public if they're able.

You should hold onto Raido by the same token. Even if you’re just using it in personal practice, you’re still influencing that Wyrd.

Did you see the interview with Mumu on the Late Late Show (don't think I can put in a link, but it's on the ArknightsEN twitter)? It has some more Mumu-Kristen crumbs and some hints for Samuels dynamics going forward.

I did. The Muelsten was nice, but I didn't see anything about the latter outside her calling Saria her "BFF" which is... rich.

🌈 - Is there a fic you worked hard on that no one would ever know? Probably my now-abandoned Vocaloid fic/ original piece, The Courtship of Hatsune Miku. It's the longest original piece I've written and I learned a lot about my issues with plotting and character consistency. There's a lot of evocative writing in there, but because I was doing it mostly by the seat of my pants, it doesn't really hold a proper arc.

🍭 - Why did you start writing? I don't know if there really was a "why" to it. I was a 'gifted' kid in school and I didn't have the patience to draw much, but I had lots of stories I wanted to tell. The first story I ever published was a yuri (shoujo-ai back then) ficlet about Mahou Sensei Negima characters, and I think that was the series that really got me into writing fanfic more than original fiction.

I was perfectly content that Beatrix Schwire is the only Normie among this group consisting of: a former gangster oni, Wei’s former cop turned rogue niece, and the future Rat King of the slums.

I was fine with Swire being the only 5* while everyone else is a 6*.

I enjoyed the idea of Swire picking on a rat girl shorter than her even though she herself was a victim of bullying and can’t even do the whole “pick on someone your own size” thing.

I'm interested in seeing what they do with the Doctor. I think a lot of people (myself included) are just relieved, in a way, that they aren't going with a Doctor who presents/sounds typically male. Largely because the fandom has really poisoned what a "male Doctor" is like, to me. Not that anime Doctor was ever going to be fandom Doctor, but I'm glad there's an explicit layer of difference, either way.

Same. Lowlight was adamant that Doctor has no canonically assigned gender for the purpose of individual players catering their own AK experience. I'm glad the anime is following suit by not arbitrarily making Doctor male, in contrast to other adaptations where it's always the guy who becomes the protagonist.

The way fandom at large memes a male Doctor is obnoxious, yeah. Especially all the horrid harem takes where Doctor is either very clearly a man or obviously expected to be read as one.

Obligatory disclaimer that not everyone who has a male Doc behaves like that, but forgive me if I'm more charitable to nonbinary or female interpretations of Doctor.

I keep wanting to do a Dishonored LP, but the amount of editing a low chaos run would take... Bioshock's a damn good game though, I suggest that one.

FOR REAL OMG. Beating my no kill/total stealth low chaos run, DLC included, was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but holy shit. I can’t even tell you the number of times I reloaded saves because I was spotted or accidentally killed someone. I can’t even imagine all the editing it would take to do an LP of that.
