Happy Fred Fic Friday, chapter 1 is now live
Never did I think I’d be able to stumble upon Venture Bros. production art after all these years, yet somehow I landed a set of 5. These pieces are all from Season 6.
First up, THE MONARCH! Even if it’s not the greatest frame, having something of the Monarch was the biggest draw in this batch for me. From the special All This and Gargantua-2, he’s turning towards Henchman 21/Gary as 21 is getting some food out of the fridge in the Monarch’s childhood home:
A little bit later, 21 turns around after pulling some food out of the fridge, and that is where his sketch comes from:
From the second to last episode of the season, A Party for Tarzan, next up is a sketch of Gary/21 as he’s changing into his Kano outfit in the MorphoCave:
The last pair of art comes from episode 3, Faking Miracles. First is Redusa, who, if you couldn’t guess, can shrink things with her eye beams. At this part of the episode, she’s leaving after being interrupted in an intimate moment with Red Mantle after Dragoon’s head tried to kiss her:
And for that, Dragoon’s head got shrunk. Red Mantle tries running after her to no avail:

Redusa (Villain)
“Oh how long has it been?”
“Redusa don’t do threesomes!”
As a long standing member of the Guild of Calamitous Intent, Redusa is a seasoned super villain with the power to reduce people and objects. She has a luscious head of snakes which hypnotise her prey while her eyes shoot her reduction rays. She has been in the villainy game as long as Red Mantle (an original Guild Council Member) and is confident enough not to pay her dues without repercussions. She must be well respected in the villainy community because while not exhibiting enormous wealth, she was invited to an elite party thrown by Wide Whale. She wears a typical Greek mythology inspired outfit and hids her snakes under a wig. She absolutely loves gold.

had a lot of fun picking villains who are the right age to be arching in the 70s for Fade Away and Radiate, and then even more fun designing goofy 70s looks for them, thinking about trends (bad moustaches, redusa somehow having to get her "hair" into a bump-it, even MORE tobacco use than in canon) and also what they would be like 30-40 years younger than canon (no eyepatch for Don yet, Steppenwolf's fur being darker and more saturated, Auntie Matter being an absolute brat)
