Santorini Reed Diffuser at Coco and Duckie
One of my Holy Grails came in this morning.
Last January (2024), a Japanese company called fav's room Tokyo did a collaboration with Capcom for Ace Attorney scented reed diffusers (like incense, but instead of burning, there's a solvent which evaporates to fill the room with scent). I have asthma and avoid scented products because I enjoy continuing to breathe, but I was incredibly excited by the pre-order can badges. I've never seen these designs anywhere else and they're nifty.
TL;DR I checked Japanese Mercari and Yahoo! very regularly and only saw the Phoenix and Edgeworth badges for sale, at extremely inflated prices (e.g. 7500 yen for the badge when the entire set with diffuser was only 4400 yen new). I saw the Klavier badge once for the equivalent of $10 US and of course it went instantly because that was a stupid price.
Anyway, the other day I just happened to find both Klapollo badges in the same auction (!) and hit "Buy It Now" on Buyee. I wasn't going to wait for my friend in Japan to get back to me, when I needed it with the power of a thousand burning suns :D
Today they turned up. And I was immediately stunned by the size. I'd expected standard 55 mm badges, but these are 75mm! That means they won't fit in the space on my badge board which I'd carefully allocated for them.
The badges are almost as big as a Bean!
Klavierbean and Apollobean measured the badges with their Klapollo ruler.
And discovered that they are 75mm wide!
I don't have a lot of Holy Grail merchandise left. There's the original Garyu Wave necklace from 2007 that I've given up finding at a reasonable price, along with a pair of small badges of Klavier and Apollo's faces. There's a 15th Anniversary keyring of Klavier which basically Does Not Exist at any price. (If I didn't have the matching Apollo, I would question whether it even got made.) And an official Garyu Wave t-shirt which I have seen in auctions, but only for Japanese S and XS sizes, and I'd probably be a 3 or 4XL in Japan ;D
I'm going to be selling off a lot of my spare merch soon, just as soon as I've figured out reasonable prices. (The prices on eBay are horrendous, easily 4-5 times more than you pay in Japan, and I don't believe in ripping off other fans.)
