❌ RE-EDITING IS DISGUSTING

Re-editing other people’s work is just unacceptable. Even if you have credited the original editor, no thanks! We don’t need that. But the problem is most of these people acting as if it were THEIR edit. Stealing other people’s work and then re-editing it doesn’t make it become YOURS. We have put a lot effort into it so you have no right to use it, especially when there is no permission yet. If you know how to edit, why don’t you go and edit by yourself instead of fixing other people’s edit? You would be more proud if it’s made BY ONLY YOU.

Many talented editors, artists have LEFT our fandom because of this problem. Stealing not only shows disrespect to the owners but also makes them really UPSET! So if you want our fandom to stay strong and alive, please STOP DOING THESE:

[REPORT] Re-edited GIFs Reposter @temptaestions

Account @temptaestions​​ on Tumblr has been stealing gifs from multiple content creators on Tumblr and Twitter. She has been cropping, recoloring then reposting and claiming these gifs as her own since January 2019.  When contacted by multiple content creators, she maintained that the cropped and recolored gifs are hers. Further, when asked, she said that she had the video on her phone and gif-ed there. [1]  

On September 8, Eshika made a post with the different psd’s that she used on editing the gifs, and made no comment on the actual process of making the gif. Admin Kelly had contacted them by private message on September 9 to remove all reposted, cropped, and re-colored gifs and/or uncredited content. They have not replied to any of her messages until now. 

You can look through some of their stolen content in their #my+gifs tag. If you see your work was reposted, you may report their account through this form for misattribution instead of copyright infringement.

You can show your support for content makers by:

blocking @temptaestions​ to prevent accidentally spreading their reposts;

post-replying on @temptaestions ‘original’ posts about their reposting;

sending an ask and/or DM to @temptaestions to stop re-editing and reposting, and to delete their reposts;

reblogging or sharing our report on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram;

contacting content makers whose work you recognize has been reposted

Community pressure may stop this user and prevent others from reposting original content. We encourage expressing your anger, but we do not condone violent or threatening messages.
