You know how we say that people have souls in english - practically referring to our consciousness?
In German the consciousness or "soul" is called the literal translation to ghost - i actually like that terminology way more because in that sense everyone is a ghost.
Alive we're just a physical manifestation of our ghost that will end one day. And sometimes the end of a physical manifestation doesn't the ghost is gone.
It may have always been there and may always stay.
