Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that you aren't a fan of Upstead. Can I ask why? Do you prefer Linstead over Upstead?
You are most definitely not wrong, I am indeed not a fan of upstead! And of course you can ask why.
First of all, the linstead over upstead question is technically a little complicated but the short answer is yes, because I have actually shipped Linstead and I've never shipped upstead (except once in season five sdfgbjk). And before I get into everything, I thought I should answer this briefly first then expand later.
The short answer for why I'm not a fan of upstead boils down to they bore me, they don't inspire any of those eee ship feels in me and, for me, the writing. But that doesn't really go into depth so I will for you now;
So when I first watched, they just never captivated me. For starters, Jay is pretty low on my list of faves (I could happily watch tons of episodes without him in it) and Hailey just never interested me. I watched a little out of order because I watch for burzek, so she did interest me when I finally watched her introduction but that spark never got carried on. I just don't think they ultilised her well. And I hate Eid, and his showrunning, so unfortunately I think I was just doomed to not really gel to her since it's too late now. Like one of the main reasons I have affection for Hailey is because of Tracy-- not (just) because of her acting, but because she's adorable and so I love Hailey because the affection displaces onto her.
So not having much liking for the characters in the ship doesn't exactly bode well for liking it! But this is only the tip of the iceberg.
The next factor is I don't actually think they built it up well? Like I know it was building, you can see that, because that's narratively where it was going, and I understand that, but yeah. It just didn't envoke any of those ship feels and I would've been perfectly fine to see them never getting together/ just being strong partners. Yet again, this is another problem with Eid's showrunning, because the unit and the writing, it just didn't have the same strong effects, AND he had no idea really what he wanted out of Hailey which meant she changed every season and Jay became different and it just didn't help me connect to them or care.
And the whole upzek mess kinda soured things too. Just because that's not really like how I like relationships being built up and honestly I think they should've done a few more tropes in this building tensions stage of their relationship.
Another thing (which does also go into some feelings I have about Linstead too but in a different way) is that I hate how everything revolves around them. Character development is only really about them and even then-- they didn't actually develop!! Which just annoys and bores me and I just wanted them off my screen.
BUT regardless of this, I still had the attitude of, going into season eight, I just want them to be happy so if they get together yay. I mean I still have this attitude but before I'd say I was neutral and now I'm not a fan.
I'll admit, I did actually want to ship them. I knew I'd never write fic or be about them the same I am about my other oc ships, but I did want to ship them. And the build up already failed at that, but I wanted the relationship to draw me in. But it's safe to say it did not. In fact all my previous problems was just even more amplified. Their relationship was botched and frankly, imo, not well done. And they're so isolated from the rest of them team, didn't tell anyone (and the reasons for why wasn't ever discussed! Like Linstead, burzek and even upzek had reasons!) which just added to the disconnect... Especially when they got engaged.
Just this, in my mind, is not great story telling -- especially with how the show markets itself. In another set up, it would, but not what had been previously established. And that just creates a disconnect.
And any hope I had to ship them was taken when they got married. For the reasons I've said and more, but mainly because that was not what I wanted out of cpd's first wedding. It was lacklustre, and just continued to add to the disconnect. I don't have a problem with them getting married because I wanted burzek to be the first or whatever -- it's literally because how it happened. Family is a whole vibe of the show, and they didn't even have an a la dawsey style wedding with everyone there informally? It's just not what the first wedding should be like and that just ruined things for me. Especially because it just stank of Eid hurrying everything up before he left so he could have his ship married and honestly it's just a great example of how much Eid ruined things. And now we have sigan, it's still ruined for me, because she's already showing markings of being better, but this has happened now and no matter how good she is this mars it for me.
And finally: the fans-- or rather the stans. Stans can very rarely make me no longer ship something I originally did, but they can make me never have any chance to ship it if I didn't before. And this happened here. And so honestly it killed any chance for me to be a fan. PLUS y'know, when you see posts you've made torn apart and completely mocked for how you write it kinda stains things (especially if then things you say are taken out of context and sent to others and then you're sent their responses as, idk, a gotcha even though they didn't get the context) and just makes you never want to interact with their fans.
Now to touch onto linstead:
So I initially got interested in the show because of Erin. I'm a huge fan of Sophia Bush so seeing her in this made me go oh? I ended up watching for Burzek, but she was my intial draw in. So I was kinda predisposed to like Linstead. And honestly the first episode? Jay going to fight those guys for Her Honour,,, it got me. Not like burzek, or stellaride but those eeee ship feelings? The ones upstead doesn't give me? They appeared.
And honestly until I watched more of the later seasons, and when upstead was made canon, I genuinely thought I'd be the kind of writer who for long fix it fics would just always just have linstead in the background even if it doesn't get any focus. I have a lot of affection for Erin, and for the lingess friendship.
BUT I will say that Linstead irritates me sooooo much when I rewatch. I hate hate hate the focus, I had so much stuff about it, and I hate how Kim is treated and just. I do get infuriated and I do think if Erin stayed I would've ended up hating her/disliking her.
In December I wanted to do a whole rewatch of the show and now, the final day of march, I STILL haven't because I told myself I can't skip anything and God I just really don't want to sit through everything. I'm a burzek girl.
So technically I don't prefer one over the other. There's things I like about linstead that I don't about upstead and there's things about upstead I prefer over linstead. But I also think if old burzek coincided with upstead, I would've liked it better and same with if new burzek coincided with linstead.
If upstead was done better I'd say I probably would prefer them but they haven't been sooo. But honestly I'm a fan of *Erin* and a big part of me doesn't think Jay deserves her so that's a factor why I can't say I prefer linstead.
But I probably am more affectionate for them than most, and some of my fic ideas did actually double as a fix-it for Linstead too. They don't so much anymore (mainly because it brings a lot of hate to your door and I'm not emotionally strong enough to cope with that when it comes to my writing) but I still do think it'd be nice to write it like I originally intended. And honestly I might be I'm very much a if burzek is set in 1-4, then linstead is the side ship and if it's 5+ it's upstead because I don't ship one more than the other so I just go with canon. Like Linstead splitting up doesn't kill me, but upstead never being together doesn't kill me either.
Although I've never not cried at season four's ending/the beginning of season five.
Anyway! I've rambled enough so I'll end it here!!!
If you could write one sentence of dialogue for each character in an upcoming episode of PD, what would it be?
Ooooh this is FUN!!!! Thank you so much for asking this Lexi!!!! I cheated a little by adding a little more than just one sentence, but tbf the one sentence on their own could be interpreted many ways and I wanted it crystal clear!!! Also these are all very indulge but idgaf!!!!
Adam: "No matter how we go forward, I'm gonna need one thing; to officially adopt Makayla, too. No more of this she's my daughter crap, she's ours and I want to make sure the law is also on my side if one day in the future you decide to change your mind about that. You can be one foot out in whatever this is in our personal relationship, but I can't have that with me and that little girl-- with me and my daughter. The only reason why I shouldn't legally be her parent is if Mak doesn't want that, because Mak is the most important person here, I know that, not you or I."
Kim: "I'm willing to have you in Makayla's life. You're a good guy and she needs role models like you, especially of her own race and blood. But only if, from here on out, you respect me as her parent-- us as her parents. Nothing like the other day can happen again, we are her parents, we make all the decisions surrounding her, especially about the big stuff."
Kevin: "I took the Detective's exam... And I passed."
Hailey: "There's something you don't know about Walton's death-- I..I did it."
Jay: "Okay. I hear you. Please, tell me where I'm messing up."
Voight: "The department has approved money for a new member; starting tomorrow, we're getting a new detective."
Trudy: "Today, I seriously considered retiring. But then I realised I've still got work I can do, not just behind the desk, but with my officers. Take some under my wing and who knows-- one might be filling up the other space in the unit, especially if you get one of your overskilled puppies out of being a officer and get them their badge."
I fully only watch New Amsterdam because I love Sandra Mae Frank (who plays Dr. Wilder) SHE BETTER BE ALRIGHT
Oh I ADORE both Sandra Mae Frank and Wilder, like so much!!! Ngl I hate that she's been introduced so late into the show bc two seasons (with one being significantly shorter) doesn't seem to be enough of her.
I just love her dynamic with Max, and honestly everyone she meets and interacts with, and Ben and her brother!!! Also the scene with willow was just perfect. And I love how everyone seems to have bonded with her, that she has the power to suggest a karaoke night and to have everyone agree! Plus just the way she's a badass deaf head doctor is just amazing for so many reasons and I love it so much. She's so well done I love her.
Putting a spoiler under the cut here, it kinda spoils outcomes of 9x17 so if you don't want to read don't.
She will be alright tho!! There's been photos of her on set/in promo pictures so she lives. Although god knows what happened, but at least she survives!
Adam and Kim have needed to talk since season 3, but more than anything, I wish the writers would have let Adam and Kim sort out their issues before introducing Makayla. Makayla deserves to have co-parents who communicate and think before speaking or acting.
Kim can be so callous or inconsiderate to Adam.
Matt got with and proposed to Gabby too soon after Hallie died. Matt needed more time to grieve and figure things out. I don't think it had been a year since Hallie died when Matt proposed to Gabby.
I wish Sylvie had stayed single during the Brettsey angst in season 9. I didn't have a problem with Grainger, but I don't understand why the writers felt the need to have Sylvie have a fling/short relationship. It feels like the CF writers think a woman can't be on the show without a man in some capacity, whether that's a relationship, fling etc. Furthermore, season 9 was short, and this fling took up valuable time.
The Brettsey angst didn't have to go on for three-quarters of a 16 episode season. Also, the Brettsey angst wasn't all Matt's fault.
I like Hawkami, but they are taking up too much screentime, especially Hawkins, who is a recurring character (whom we aren't sure will be staying) and doesn't even work at 51. They need to shift some of this focus to Cruz and Ritter, who deserve much better as characters.
I really dislike how Ritter's most prominent role is the sarcastic and sassy friend to his best friends. This is what a lot of media tends to do with black or LGBTQ characters. They prefer to have us as the sidekicks.
1. YES YES YES. I agree so so much. I really do wish they had them sort out things before adding Makayla to the mix. I mean I really love how Kim and her have this special, special bond but I just wish they sorted it before because she deserved that.
2. I'm not sure if I agree with the last bit. Inconsiderate, yeah but. Idk, I think it's probably more to do with how I view the word callous that makes me not agree with it.
3. Oh FOR SURE. Matt had definitely not properly grieved and honestly? I don't think he had gotten out of the mindset of being a committed man. He jumped into one serious from another, because that's how he still viewed himself. So when he thought about how much he loved Gabby his mind immediately went = marriage. But he needed to let that relationship build for at least two years before thinking that, especially when grief was concerned.
4. I agree so so much with this. It dragged on and it really didn't need to, especially with how short the season was. And ugh YES they really do seem to have a need to have women have flings and/or basically be in a relationship or thinking about one. It's so tired. And honestly they should've just given us honeymoon brettsey.
5. Oh definitely not. Sylvie was quite a bit at fault herself here.
6. I love hawkami so much, and I love that by having hawkami, Violet is getting a lot of screentime because honestly I adore her so so much. But yeah, I do think they need to shift the focus of the haw part of hawkami, ESPECIALLY because Ritter and Cruz are being so neglected!
7. THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS !!!!! I feel so so bad for Ritter, he deserves so much more than this. I want more of him, actually him, not just him being the sassy sidekick.
I like Pelham and the actor, but I'm disappointed that Fire decided to add another straight white male character (I will note that I'm just assuming he's straight, so you never know) after they had already added Hawkins.
I don't understand why they wouldn't have gotten a POC, WOC or anyone from an underrepresented community. It would have been nice to see a woman leading 51 in Stella's absence. And now it seems they have put Pelham and Hawkins at the forefront whilst neglecting their minority characters like Cruz (honestly, where has he gone; where has the PTSD storyline gone), Ritter and even Gallo with his lack of growth.
Out of all the OC shows and even some Dick Wolf shows in general, Fire does a decent job at diversity, but they need to realise that having one or two characters from each underrepresented community isn't enough.
First, I thank you for your patience about me getting around to this! I've put a lot of it under a cut because it got a lil long (which is like sxghjkkl bc I have so much more that I could say!) and I hope it makes you feel less alone in your disappointment ❤️
I agree with all of this, it's exactly the kind of things I've been thinking about myself. Like I adore Brett Dalton and I mean adore. When I heard he was gonna be playing Pelham I'm not ashamed to admit I immediately hoped SO much that he'd be sticking around-- and as a good character-- because I love him that much.
So while them choosing to cast *this* white actor takes the edge off my annoyance a little bit because at least it's a talented actor, but honestly it still pisses me off that jfc they didn't even appear to think about hiring a POC/WOC???!! I think especially on the heels of adding Hawkins.
Like Hawkins himself-- why is he white? Like okay I love him and adore his storyline with Violet-- especially bc it's giving Violet a much better love interest!-- so I'm not exactly annoyed by *his* presence but I am so, so disappointed that fire didn't chose to hire a poc.
And honestly I'm disappointed in fire in general; there's now three new characters that are getting introduced this season (the third being the paramedic rumoured to be stepping in for Sylvie) and they've *ALL* been fucking white??? Because apparently there's no way there's gonna be any poc who will be in those jobs right? 🙄 I could excuse one, but three? That's dropping the ball.
I agree that Fire (especially in the past) has done a decent job at diversity. Honestly it's while that technically pd is my favourite, because burzek are my otp, objectively fire was too. Because their diversity, the way they care about the community, their family interactions... It was so good. I mean obviously not perfect and it had Issues but depending it's created and ran largely by white men, it was good.
But, as a post in my drafts say but I'll make the point here instead, Fire is going the same way pd has already years ago. Objectively, pd is so shitty and literally so fucking terrible at diversity and racial issues (not to mention queer issues 🙄) but fire's always had that edge of being good. Except they've really gone downhill.
A big issue is-- and this actually goes for pd, too-- that they lost their poc and non American characters. So already when you look at the cast all lined up, it no longer looks like an incredibly diverse firehouse. I mean yes, it's not all white, but they lost Mills, Gabby, Emily and Otis. And what's more, they didn't exactly aim to replace them with more minorities. (To a degree, I know, I'm not going to get into a debate about the technicality of who replaced who!)
So they start with a nice diverse main cast (even if their secondary characters were all white), and what's more is they had that mix of cultures threaded in throughout the house-- even down to who's the best cooks and what they cook. This, even if there was only a handful of minorities, helped to bring that atmosphere of Diversity and togetherness.
The best places I've ever been in are ones where there is a lovely mix of cultures. I mean obviously I'm not white so I just feel more comfortable around other minorities, and I'm from a very diverse city. Which is why I like Chicago, and one Chicago, because a lot of the things can be similar to home (just with the caveat that I don't have a big latino population). And I liked that feel that early CF had.
A mix of cultures in one pot, it's truly one of the best things ever, especially bc us minorities are so much more likely to be accepting of one another. And while this wasn't really ever as at the forefront of the show like I'd say do, it was so good depending the white creators and white leads.
But when they lost their actors, they not only physically, from how the cast looks, lost a lot of their diversity, but they lost that vibe. And that's a big factor in how this feels even more disappointing, because they already only have a few poc and just keeps adding white characters, but they've rid us of that feeling. And because they're not really making sure to keep that vibe, they're not thinking about it in the casting room-- which means they don't remember that hey, we should hire people who aren't, y'know, white.
It's the opportunities they could take and ignores that creates this disappointment. As you've said, why couldn't we have a woc to lead the 51, especially after last season with them talking about how incredible it is to have woc in charge. And I mean, okay, I get it to a degree-- they want the first black woman lieutenant in charge to be Stella. (And by get it I mean I get that white men feel that it's more special that way bc they see two black women as two black women first, not two individuals whereas we don't). So... Make the lieutenant latina. Chicago has such a big latino as well as black so if they don't want to use a black actor bc of Stella... There's still a non white option!!! But instead they choose... A white man, who's presumed straight.
And honestly, these things I might be able to get pass if, as you put, they didn't neglect their pre-existing poc over Pelham and Hawkins!! Like Ritter is nothing but a plot device in gallo's immaturity, and Cruz... I'm so mad about them fading out his storyline. Honestly the way before these seasons aired the productions amped up Kim's and Cruz's respective storylines only to drop them has already pissed me off, but to have them choose to ignore a moc's struggles, even more as he approaches fatherhood which can be a trigger to bring up deep repressed issues? It's like why did they even bother!!!
And idek what's up with Gallo. Like why bring in more white characters when you're doing nothing with this one? And that's another thing that annoyed me about the Pelham thing-- so it was shown early on that Stella took a kinda mentoring role to Gallo, and they could've had her leave some notes for who came to fill in (although yes technically he filled in for Matt) and like we could see Pelham doing things recommended-- and getting to see what amazing work Stella does despite her not being on our screen- getting them to keep shining a light on their woc even when the actress was taking a break.
And it just pisses me off even more that they reintroduced seager and she's nothing but a useless flirt. Like way to demonise, writers!
All these points can kinda link into pd, too, and I'm just gonna talk about that for a moment although I will be making a separate post about it. I was going to include these points in the paragraphs talking about it in fire but I thought I'd just add it on here on the end in case people just wanted to focus on CF.
The loosing of poc: honestly this is an even bigger problem in pd then it is in fire. Because one) fire has more than one, and two) they have done somewhat more of loosing a poc and swapping them with another (although there's inherent problems with that too). But pd, we always had basically none, and then whenever they lost characters, they just... Didn't replace them.
Kevin is literally the only poc and his storyline is only ever about being black-- and it's not even done well!!! Yes points are poignant, but overall it's just so exhausting and honestly overdue. And they wrote off Antonio, got rid of Rojas with no mention, and now... The Latino community apparently doesn't exist, and the black community only exists when they remember about Kevin.
And fun fact writers, just because we (poc) disappear from your minds as soon as you think you've done your quota, doesn't mean we actually disappear in real life! We're still here, watching your show, seeing our issues get made a mockery of. Like no, things don't stop just because the focus is on this character today. It's an ongoing thing, and it's a thing that white people-- no matter how hard they try-- will never ever know how it feels. You can't, not unless you have the skin we have, not unless you grow up feeling the way people look at you from day fucking one. The closest white people will ever get is when they're parents to non-white kids, but even that will never quite be the same.
And obviously a lot of this is Eid's fault. I mean pd was still a fucking disaster pre-eid, but it was better. But Eid came in, killed characters and did nothing to hire others after or discuss racial issues until, y'know, George Floyd happened.
And it's not just about poc, and our communities that's been overlooked and ignored. It's the potential about other underrepresented communities. Like Hailey. She's Greek, her grandparents or great grandparents were probably immigrants, or if not, her family grew up around Greek immigrants and in that culture. And when she's introduced, there's literally another Greek character in the show but do they jump on the chance to use that to integrate her and the multi-cultural life in Chicago? Nope! She brings Greek donuts once and then it's like Greek? Me? Oh no way.
And it's even more important because Hailey is "American passing". You look at her, and you look at her name, and the average person won't see the enriching Greek culture. (I'm not saying btw that Greeks have to look a certain way, they don't, but I'm just pointing out that the average white person who's not knowledgeable in cultures will not associate all the uniqueness Hailey could bring, the opinions she'd have).
I'm not even gonna touch upon Makayla in this post, mostly because I've got others I'm gonna dedicate to just her because it's complicated, but the whole fucking way they've handled that is just so so bad and I can't even understand the people who said that the writing from Eid taking over to him stepping down being good.
I'm gonna stop this here now, especially before I go into ranting about Jay and Voight and even more before I start ranting about some areas of this fandom!
Anyway!!! Sorry (again) that this took so long to get around too, and I'm sorry most of what I've answered isn't insights but just me ranting but thank you so much for sending this. It's everything I think, and it makes me feel less alone, especially because it can feel like I'm a little bit crazy in this fandom bc of things like this and getting sent this by another poc makes me feel better (By the way, this whole time I've been assuming you're also a poc but if you're not, I'm guessing you're from an underrepresented community yourself bc your wording just shows that!)
Feel free to come into my inbox whenever, and I can promise I'll try and answer you sooner 🤣
Every OC show has a character that they throw all their trauma at.
On PD, it's Kim
On Fire, it's Matt
On Med, it was Connor.
All OC characters have extreme trauma, but it feels like these 4 can never catch a break. Their lives read like horror stories with hints of happiness, especially when you factor in Matt and Connor's childhoods.
THIS, THIS, THIS!!!!
They literally cannot have a break and it sucksssss. Like just give them some happiness!!! I get these shows needs drama, but they have their set characters as the punching bags and it sucks so much.
And you're right. Like say if you wrote a biography about their lives, it would be like a horror story. For example, my sister and I were talking the other day and she was saying (bc we were catching up with our brother) about how if she just laid out event a, b and c simply and manner of factly to catch him up it sounds so horrible and really makes you think damn, how did you survive all that??! And that's exactly how it's like with these three!!!
(although I'd say each show has a secondary punching bag, not as much, but still like give them a break; Jay, Kelly and Will).
Voight is a corrupt and violent cop that engages in practices and methods that commonly have worse impacts on POC so if he can’t change or doesn’t want to change then I have concerns about him having a great amount of involvement in Makayla’s life. I have an issue with him playing grandfather to Makayla.
And even if Voight were to change I think there need to be boundaries with him and Makayla considering everything he’s done and how young and traumatised Makayla is.
Maybe Voight is just a familiar figure in her life where he attends special events interacts with her, but he doesn't do all the intimate things like braiding her hair, having one-on-one time with her, reading to her etc. He's like the uncle to comes out on special occasions, but that's it. Voight will obviously be part of Makayla's life because of the role he plays to Kim and Adam, but there have to be strict boundaries and distance.
Furthermore, whilst Voight might understand how Adam and Kim are feeling with Makayla having been abducted due to Voight’s son Justin being kidnapped and murdered as well as Erin leaving, these situations aren’t the same.
Makayla is a seven-year-old who hasn't done anything except be a child. She is completely blameless about everything that has happened to her and the trauma she has endured and will continue to endure, unfortunately.
Whereas Justin was a grown man who made the choices that led to him being in danger, and his father Voight enabled his behaviour and choices. Voight only got strict with Justin when it was too late. It doesn't mean Justin deserved to die, but it does mean that he wasn't innocent in everything that took place, and neither was Voight.
THIS!!! Just all this!
I've seen a lot of people talk about Voight and his involvement in Makayla's life, and honestly this sums up everything that I feel about that. Voight should not be more active in her life than being at special events. Even if he makes more active changes in himself. There's just something so uncomfy about a man who's profited of things that statistically affected poc the most being a very involved role in Makayla's life. Like Kim and Adam have a close bond with him, but they're adults and also white, they're not a traumatized black kid. Even if she wasn't traumatized, it's still a little icky. And I think the amount of people who are wanting Voight scenes with Makayla without thinking about the bigger picture and the bigger implications of that makes me once again wonder if people in this fandom want to do the work to think about racial issues when watching a show like this.
And YES YES YES. Like I've said multiple times I do want to see Voight relate to them in this episode because out of everyone in the unit, he'll understand the most. But they're not the same. And it does a disservice to ignore that.
And then there's the added fact that Kim and Adam will have to be concerned about if Makayla's race will factor into them saving her. Black communities are rightly distrustful about police and if someone has seen Makayla with her kidnapper and then have the police question it, they might regard it with a bit more caution.
AND what if white police officers on their force keeping an eye out treats the case with more cavalier than they would a white kid just because of their own biases and prejudices.
And Makayla is still a kid, she might not know enough to be able to, if she gets away, to tell someone that she's a cop's kids.
It's all these things that makes the two situations different and it's something to keep in mind.
I just love this show so fucking much. It's only been two weeks since I started it, and a week since I caught up and I love it with all my heart it is perfect. I mean yes, season four has been a bit all over the place but it's still so good. Like the way sharpwin loves each other oh my heart !!!! And Wilder my beloved being introduced I love her so much
Although next week cannot come soon enough I need to know what's up with everyone
Like I am so incredibly excited for next week although I am dreading whatever the issue is with helen !!! Like I've been naively hoping that whatever happened to her doesn't have lasting effects or isn't a miscarriage like so many people are thinking (bc my baby doesn't deserve that) and that maybe just the discussion about the future is about her staying in New York for a little longer bc they've missed each other and optimistically talking about adoption of Luna if they're getting married but with what we know about future episodes I know it's gonna be more than just that and I am worried. Although can't lie, the health implications being linked into Helen's fertility does fit into her narrative arc but still.
Plus I'm worried for Casey because I love him so much and do not want him to be dead at all (plus that'll destroy Lauren/I'm worried they'd use that just as a quick way to get leyren back together without them having to do much communication work) AND talking about leyren I'm worried that they'll not use this possible deportation issue to show how Lauren's grown (not automatically trying to fix it without Leyla's explicit ask for help)
So yeah I'm just going a little mad inside my mind! But this is so so lovely of you anon and ilysm for wanting to hear me scream about this bc I seriously have so much Thoughts and Feelings about this show. Like so much. And I haven't got much interaction on the new Amsterdam posts I made so I just naturally assumed no one wanted to hear me scream about it !!!
