Miles 2703-2707, Sheila Tapia. Thank You!
Whatever Sheila experienced when she ran the New York Marathon in 2010, apparently she couldn't get enough of it. She's hitting the streets again for the race's 2012 edition and this time she's running for a cause: to raise money for the Christopher and Dana Reve Foundation for Spinal Chord Research. Sheila is running in honor of her Mother-in-Law Constance who, nine years ago, was paralyzed after a freak accident in New York City. After two surgeries she was able to walk with a cane.
Running next to Sheila for those 26.2 miles will be her husband Jeremiah, who is also fundraising for the Reeve Foundation. Check out their fundraising pages, even if you can't donate. They're inspiring!

I rode my bike to Central Park on Tuesday morning and met up with Denise, who'd taken the train. It was a gorgeous morning, not too hot, perfect for running. I did the five-mile loop, not quite ready for the Harlem Hill after so much time away. This was my first run in the Park after a three month stint out of town.
