Your pale fingers danced magnificently on the piano keys. Mine, too, were led by them. Just like bubbles in sparkling water, Our sound spilled, bounded and shone.

All the hardships I’ve been through just to be with you; the rain still stands in our way. Every raindrop felt on our skin— although we’re both drenched, we find happiness in the storm. As we dance along in synch under these crying clouds, we never fail to seek hope. To seek hope in this hopeless romance. We were both so happy. We were so hopeful. But now, I look forward to it alone. It was such a beautiful storm.

After the Rain (Koi wa Ameagari no you ni)
I can’t believe it took me this long to finish this anime, it is definitely one of the hidden gems that has a lot to say about life. This follows a high school student that suffered a sports injury from track and field and ended up having given up on running instead of getting rehabilitation for her injury, she fills in that time by getting a part time job at a family restaurant far away from home and falling in love with her manager who is man in his 40′s that is divorced and has a child. It starts off like any romantic comedy but has some authentic things to say about life in the process. The moral of this story is that its never too late to chase after something you love, this show is not about romance but more about self discovery and starting over again.
I drew the main protagonist Akira tachibana in her school uniform carrying an umbrella since this was inspired by the song “Ref:Rain by Aimer”
please give this show a watch if you have not yet, it is definitely something that speaks to a lot of people.
