Ooh, I like the new PFP!
Thanks!! It’s a cropped version of this
…Which I made as a thing for a post-magma White Void Au adventure featuring Refrain (aka Mega Woman, by @mythgendered) and Roll in which their Wilys team up to basically do a Worlds Collide (hence the title)
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Re-Animator (Movies - Combs) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Daniel Cain/Herbert West Characters: Daniel Cain, Herbert West (Re-Animator) Additional Tags: Hurt/Comfort, light on the comfort though, Established Relationship, Gentle Sex, Frottage, Hand Jobs, Crying During Sex, Memory Loss, Kissing, Arguing, Whump, Post-Movie: Bride of Re-Animator (1989), Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Re-animated Herbert West, Major Character Undeath Summary:
There were times, moments like up until now, where everything felt normal. Herbert’s mood was agreeable, the work was progressing smoothly, and it was as if they were back in their mortuary home, bickering about meaningless things. But it never lasted. Sooner rather than later, the illusion would shatter.
And just like that, it was fifteen years later and Herbert was dead.
It's so ironic that Jean left The Nest when Neil entered it.
I mean… Jean had the opportunity once him long-lost partner finally appeared.
Neil arrived, saw the situation, and began orchestrating a plan when he saw Jean's interest in Renee. He saw a way out for himself and took advantage of it. Maybe at first it was to destabilize Riko and his lineup, but then Neil negotiated Jean's contract with Ichirou as well.
Realistically, Neil had nothing to do with Jean, but he did.
And now, in TSC, we see that there's a connection between them.
I can't help but wonder what Jean means to Neil.
We know this from Jean, but… what about Neil? Why?
Damn it, has Neil ever asked anyone how they're doing? And does he do it with Jean when Kevin talks to Jeremy?
I don't think there's anything romantic there, but I find it very endearing of Neil to do this, and I wonder how Neil sees Jean. And also, how Andrew sees the relationship between Neil and Jean, or even Kevin.
I think Kevin must be thinking the same thing: Why is Jean important to Neil? And Andrew comes to the conclusion that Jean is something similar to what Kevin is to him, someone to protect. That's why I don't think Andrew would interfere at all in the relationship between Neil and Jean. I think Andrew would quickly understand that Jean is important to Neil in terms of keeping promises, feeling like you can protect someone (it makes you more human, perhaps), and because of the shared trauma of The Nest.
I think Andrew would also be reassured because, after his talk with Jean, he realizes that this protection is reciprocal.
I keep saying it, I think Andrew would see Jean as someone he can leave Neil with. Someone he can trust. I think Jean's protectiveness is very similar to Andrew's, and Andrew understands that.
I don't know, what do you think?
Teamup with @mythgendered ’s Refrain!
People will not refrain from criticizing. But one should not keep on criticizing. The world is such that it will run smoothly without any criticism. This world is not worth interfering in. It is just worth ‘Knowing’.
