This product came wonderfully packaged. Perfect for gift giving on any level. A sturdy box with a simple company stamp in the center of the top. Inside you find layers of foam protecting your purchase. Which is shipped in plastic coverings as well. The pen is a simple black and gold colored casing with a twist out tip. Write smoothly and turned without any odd feeling. The journal comes with two pamphlets of paper already in it, as well as an extra underneath. You'd be able to replace these at common stationary, card or craft stores. The journal also has two pages of card sheaths, holding up to 12 cards. The leather is well brushed and supple. Of course it smells divine. I found no flaws or weak points in the tanning or construction. The pamphlets are secured in elastic bands that are held with small beads on the outer spine. A classic design. The closure is another elastic going horizontally. I was glad to see their use of another small leather piece, to keep the elastic from digging through the side of your journal. There were slight marks on THAT leather, but nothing really bothersome to the eye or longevity. The brand mark on the front is cleanly embossed and smooth. Overall, I am a fan of this journal and think that it's worth the cost. Compared to other leather folios, it's a deal. I received this product at a discount for an honest and unbiased opinion.
