people from my university did their work placement semester with the galway public library but idk what their feelings on graduate interns are might be worth asking though I know that they don't pay

Hmm. Galway's on the other side of the country so I'd have to pay for accommodation there. Still, I could possibly do a short internship like that. Thanks for letting me know. :)

it certainly never warrants any sort of unfounded insults or personal attacks and I do know that he does cool things and says important stuff and i know he’s just a person I don’t like the hate either but some stuff he says rubs me the wrong way

yeah no thats totally valid does say things that are a bit rubbish sometimes but i mean really, this latest thing he said wasnt that bad? like it was a bit self-congratulatory-wank but it wasnt malicious are horrible or even like, damaging to anyone?

obviously there are lots of works where the girl kisses first but theyre hardly ubiquitous and id like to see more of them and it is a discrepancy that needs attention drawn to it, if not in the way john green did in his comment

anyway yeah he does say daft shit quite often but everyones reacting like hes said that he likes to kill babies and drink heir blood

the thing is that I’m not actually angry there’s just this great pile of “do you realise what you’re doing and how wrong you sound and also who you are and that you’re supposed to be a grown ass man?”. I’m sorry if I came across too intense

oh man no this wasnt directed at anyone in particular my dash has just be full of people foaming at the mouth for days

but actually, i didnt think what he said was that bad? like yes it was a bit daft and self congratulatory but i dont see how it warrants the outcry and the number of personal attacks ive seen on him

and yes hes said some things that werent perfect before but he is a human being, regardless of how many teenagers are looking up to him. and he a human being that has said some wonderful things as well. i think people need to realise that if someones been put on a pedestal and then isnt perfect, thats not their fault. its the fault of the people that put them on a pedestal without realising that human beings are inherently flawed.

and also, apart from anything else, a lot of the 'criticism' im seeing is just people being horrible in a way thats 1) unwarrented 2) unconstructive. like. just spewing hurtful hate at a real actual real life person who has feelings isnt the solution to anything.
