Kanami
1. Kanami should not be alive, and technically, she isn’t.
2. She actually has quite a few scars! Her largest is an x-shaped scar (and the exit wound on her back below it as if the attack was angled down at her) several inches under her left collar bone. It’s a grotesque scar, so she often hides it with layers of make up. She has another that starts from the right side of her back and stops at her sternum under her right breast, and she recently obtained BABY’S FIRST FACE SCAR! She has a hairline thin scar above her right eyebrow. The back end of her right horn is severely damaged, the tip was broken off. It has not started to grow back at all, and that’s probably because she’s a walking corpse.
3. Kanami took up weaving and sewing some time ago and has become quite talented with it. She likes to make scarves and mend things in her free time.
4. She knows very little about her birthplace, only that her mother took her from it when she was barely a few months old. How her mother made it to the Sharlayan colony in the Dravanian Hinterlands remains a mystery to her. She also left with the mass exodus, so she never got to ask. Kanami stayed behind.
5. She was Matoya’s apprentice for a time, but Matoya grew increasingly frustrated with Kanami’s dangerous path. Kanami was also not transparent with her intentions and so Matoya began to distrust her. Losing her trust was Kanami’s biggest regret. She still maintains infrequent contact.
6. In addition to Matoya, Kanami still maintains contact with Thierremonte and Stoic Willow (the only two she really considered friends.) Kanami adamantly refused to be associated with the Circle of Knowing, and then the Scions, and so relations between her and the Scions are strained.
7. She has slept with people to get what she wants.
8. Above all, Kanami is not inherently a bad person. She just always thought herself as too weak to accomplish anything, and so believed that the only way to truly get anything done was to be powerful with a vast knowledge of all that could possibly be learned.
9. Kanami secretly watched the Calamity unfold from the Shroud. The events were not enough to make her regret not lending herself to the cause, but to further her own goals of growing more powerful, because she felt like she could do nothing even if she did contribute.
10. Several years after the Calamity, Kanami traveled to the various shards and binding coils of the lesser moon and used her Echo to learn tid bits of what had happened. After the events of the Coil story, she traveled to those sights once more and learned about Nael and her hubris, and was frightened. She saw a lot of similarities between the two of them, and now has the nagging feelings that she will end up just as she did.
Wow these are... tragic. There’s happy stuff I swear.
Thank you!! ( ˘ ³˘)♥
✍16... and 3 if I can!
3.) …how long they hold grudges.
For LIFE.
Ivaan is a cool, level-headed person with a very long fuse. He is very slow to anger, but absolutely unreasonably slow to forgive. He may tell you that is okay, should you apologize, but he will never forget what you did, and it will poison every interaction he ever has with you again. Even positive ones. Sure, you may be fine right now, but you have established the precedent, the crack in the foundation is there, and he can never place the full weight of his trust on it ever again.
16 .)…what really scares them.
Anything resembling meteors. Fireworks, fire spells that streak through the air, even a shooting star. The sight will lead to a panic attack of varying severity, depending on what it was that triggered it. For this reason, he stays indoors during the holidays such as The Rising that heavily employ fireworks, especially the ones purposely resembling the falling moon.
15: Describe your character's worst enemy
He doesn’t know his name, or his face. He doesn’t even know if he’s even alive still. The Sahagin general who led the attacks on his homeland is the closest thing to a ‘worst enemy’ Daggoth would have. He might not hold a lot of love for the place he grew up but life would have been at least moderately better if they didn’t have to worry about the constant Fishback assaults on their territory.
ability... to hold THEIR DRINK
from Least to Most Questionable:
Alaq’it: holds it with both hands, responsibly. It smells funny so she does hold it out from her a bit.
Aoife: QUESTIONABLE. Usually trying to hold it in one hand. Probably spilling it as we speak.
(...okay ranking them in alcohol tolerance it goes the other way, Aoife can drink some surprising opponents under the table even though she gets tipsy pretty fast, Alaq’it probably gets knocked sideways by accidental sips.)
