I AM SO TIRED.
I have been standing since 1. I was running around helping set up the gym and then i was dancing basically non stop from 5 p.m.-12 a.m. It was so worth it though. we raised over $83,000 for the charity of refugee One. I feel so incredibly proud of everyone and I'm so excited for next years Dance Marathon!
ATTENTION ALL FOLLOWERS!!
I know this is completely wrong of me to ask but if you guys are willing to help me out. Or at least those of you who have a debit or credit card. I'm raising money for a charity tomorrow and I still have some money to raise. Even a dollar would help. I know this probably won't work but the cause is really good.
It's called refugee one. It's an organization that helps refugees from all over the world adapt to life here in America. They provide help finding a job and a home. Tomorrow at my school there is a dance marathon. It's like a party for all the fundraising we've done all year and I need to raise more money. I'll put the link below. It would really help if you could donate. :p
(obviously this won't work) .

Day 322: Refugee One via DM219
Today's give comes from a recommendation from Sarah-Shine on Tumblr. Sarah is an alum of Niles North High School and is still involved in what they do with the Dance Marathon and uses what she learned from working in that organization in her everyday life and looking forward to turning those skills into a career.
Dance Marathon essentially is the collective effort of students, teachers, and the entire community surrounding District 219 to raise funds for a selected charity and where people come together and make a difference. It is an annual event that takes place in early May of every year and lasts for eight hours. This year they are raising money for Refugee One.
Refugee One, formerly called Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Ministries (IRIM), is a not-for-profit organization that provides services to refugees and immigrants resettling in the Chicago metropolitan area. Every year, they assist more than 3,000 refugees and immigrants from around the world to find housing, learn English, acclimate to American culture, develop computer and other employable skills, find jobs, obtain medical and other care, access the public school system for their children, apply for citizenship, and obtain care for elderly family members. The majority of refugees are displaced due to their homelands ongoing war or persecution. In the past, the U.S. saw major resettlements of refugees from Eastern Europe, Vietnam, the former Yugoslavia, and various African countries.
