Let's talk shoes!
So, moving forward with the Regecndy Ball outfits I'll need, I'm looking at shoes. And thinking about the answers I got for the shoes questions along with the shoes I've been eyeing for a while, the universe apparently listened and the Bastille Day sale is on at American Duchess. So here are my faves, some ideas for the outfits that I've been thinking about, and afew extras at the end because I NEED those but for no special reason (lols):
The Brontë slippers - accurate for early 19th century, I love the square toe and the ties that give Marie Taglioni. It is leather, so this might work better in Brighton February weather. I'd wear these for the ball and I'm leaning towards the dark cherry or pink (it's also available in white) since I'm thinking of not wearing head to toe white and I like the contrast of the shoes with a white dress. These colours also work for a black or red dress, those are also options in my mind.
The Penelope Regency slippers - this is what the Regency shoes dreams are made of. I love the satin, the embroidery, the ties, the fact that the lining is leather... sadly only available in black in my size (the oink ones were perfeeeeeect)... BUT JUST LOOK AT THEM. I think in black they also work for all the dress colour options (even the white one).
The Bertie Regency Pumps - accurate for 1700-1820, these are perfect for daywear. I don't hate them, but they seem a little meh to me. Where is the pizazz?! Only available in black, they may work for the promenade.
The Mainsfield Regency Boots - These are not longer available, but AD has a similar style with no heel called The Harfield. I bought them in green a while ago and are very comfy and good for daywear. So I think I will wear these for the Promenade. I might add a green coat or spencer for this outfit.
And here are other shoes that I have no logical reason to buy other than they cute:
The Primrose 18th Century Shoes - I KNOW these are late 18th century BUT I would rock them at a baroque dance show with no shame. Both colours are lovely and I cannot choose. I think the black ones are my one true love but I REALLY want some pink shoes (the ballet dancer in me just loves the shade).
Daisy Embroidered T-Straps - Do you already see the pattern here? The flapper in me REALLY needs this. The black is very cute, but the ballet pink is just TOO PERFECT.
Lilith's Vintage T-Straps - I have no reason, no dress, no event, nowhere to wear this. BUT LOOK AT THEM. Actually, I would MAKE somwthing for this, or wear them with my seafoam green vintage dress for a party or something. I don't even know.
So, what are your thoughts on the Regency shoes?
Which should I buy for the events (I maybe can afford 2 pairs):
Brontë Slippers in dark cherry
Brontë slippers in pink
Penelope slippers in black
Bertie pumps in black
