Sweat bee on basket of gold.

Shot in my biodiverse yard Spring 2025.

Sweat bees typically nest in the ground. However, some species nest in rotting wood. Please leave areas of undisturbed soil and local wood about your yard.

Basket of gold bloom season lines up pretty well with their emergence. It also grows and spreads well in pine needle duff.
