((Random thought that just occurred to me while contemplating a pre S1 verse; do you think Twilight's been to The Gala before? She seemed to be the only one NOT totally freaking out about getting tickets if I recall))

            ||. oh trust me that’s something that me and @regentoftwilight have discussed a LOT given that the two of us are adamant believers in “twi comes from a family of elites in canterlot even BEFORE having become celestia’s protege.” 

          she does mention back in season 1 that she hasn’t gone to the grand galloping gala before, and i personally think one of two things:          1. she’s LYING because honestly when does she NOT and she HAS been to the GGG at some point in time (though it was probably only briefly and because it was mandatory bc tbh she despises galas)          2. while twilight has been to GALAS before (and other events for the canterlot elite), she might have chosen to avoid THAT ONE in particular. after all, if you’ve been to one gala, you’ve been to them all. (and again, she HATES them)

    i kind of mix the two. she’s TECHNICALLY lying bc she’s at least briefly been to the gardens during the time of the GGG but never officially showed up because at the last second decided she had better things to do. the night that she went with her ponyville friends was her first time in actual recorded attendance, and frankly the only one she’s ever partly enjoyed.

As the bustle of this so called “friendship festival” died down, Capper noticed many ponies starting to leave and go home. He supposed he should do the same soon - even if it would be quite a way’s back, and.. well, maybe sort of lonely after.. recent events.

Before he could go though, out of the corner of his eye he spotted the princess of friendship herself in what looked to be the first time he’d seen her alone all night. It wasn’t necessarily his style to be all too sincere ever since what happened with the one friend he trusted, but he needed to get something off of his chest.

Quietly stepping forward, he cleared his throat. “Ahem.. excuse me, er.. Princess.. Twilight?” Just how did you approach pastel colored equine royalty, anyway?

The feline awkwardly fiddled with and looked at his paws for a moment before giving her his full attention. “Listen, I.. since I haven’t already, I just wanted to say I’m sorry. For uh.. y’know.. tryna sell you and your pals earlier. I don’t know what got into me.” A pause, as he realized that wasn’t entirely truthful.

“Well.. I do - but I shouldn’t have tried to drag y’all into my mess. But uh.. I thought you deserved to hear that. That’s all. Y’all can have no fear, ‘cause I’ll be out of your little pony manes shortly.”

Honestly two Twilights together in any fashion is a bit of a nightmare

    they’ve hit the pinnacle of their play pretend. the cauldron a bubbly mess until it was deliberately tipped over due to the sudden ire and restlessness of past actions that decided to wake. mistakes, the ones unaccounted and bitterly buried within the depths of their repressed memories but not he, for he remembers clearly. try as he might to suppress the everlasting impression of their strained relation in MAGIC SCHOOL, the heaviness of a broken heart cannot be lifted with just a simple discovery of a similar interest.

    antiquing while great, has come with its downsides. ancient artifacts reminding him of their distant past. to feel so happy and unconcerned with a pony who has wronged him all those years ago, no matter how unintentional the words may have been. concern having twisted into verbal attack. his struggling mind throbs with an agony, and a sadness knowing the consequences of the words he is to say.

    but he’s tired of beating around the bush, of swallowing every vile taste that came up his mouth at the sight of her, and how happy he felt around her presence. weary of choosing to be oblivious to a subject that should have been, but is only being confronted now. hesitation is useless, it’s time to splinter the wood and break through, even if it meant breaking his heart all over again. ❛ i, i don’t know what we are anymore ! i want to be friends but... we can’t keep pretending like we don’t have a past or... i can’t keep pretending. do you even know what i’m talking about, or do you even know how i feel? do you have any ounce of memory left of me from magic school or were you successful in suppressing every bad thing that happened there because i sure wasn’t ! ❜

    ❛ i never was, and never have been because i just ---- i just can’t ! you were celestia’s best pupil, but you were also alone. if there’s any pony who would understand loneliness the way i did all those years ago i thought that pony would be YOU ! but you... you... !

    has it ever occurred to you that maybe i can only cast basic spells because i physically have a limit. that i physically can’t do magic because i wasn’t born right ! because i wasn’t as gifted. has it ever occurred to you that i spent every hour in our classes dog-tired because i stay up all night trying and getting nowhere !

    ---- and yet despite not knowing this, despite becoming friends now it seems that i’m the only one who remembers that you knocked me down without even knowing what i was going through when we were at magic school... ❜

Isn't that a fun coincidence? One of my friends introduced that very headcanon to me. I've since accepted it myself.

            ||. it’s a really great headcanon! honestly, feel free to pop into either my ask box, or @regentoftwilight ‘s if you ever wanna discuss it with either of us. I know that I at least speak for myself when I say that I LOVE talking about Twilight with friends, new and old. ESPECIALLY when it comes to theories of the sort.

Headcanon: Twilight's family is of some kind of Canterlot Nobility. As such, Twilight herself is practically rolling in cash!

              ||. yes! this is actually a headcanon i’ve long since had alongside my great friend and fellow twilight rper, @regentoftwilight . together we’ve managed to put together enough evidence to support the theory that the Twilights (the name of our Twilight’s family house) have been ponies of nobility since even before season 1. 

            We also like to think that the reason it seems as though Twilight isn’t as rich as she truly is in s1-3, is because she hides it from ponies. Including her friends. There’s reason behind that choice too, but that would be a very LONG theory/meta/headcanon post for another day. :)
