20.7: The Same Parrot

Who doesn't enjoy a comic strip full of black and white pictures from previous strips and giant blocks of text? While this one sets up exactly what’s been going on and gets us ready for the upcoming showdown, it is a bit wordy and dull. Thankfully, the Parrot has a little gag at the end that just about saves it but still… not the best.

21: Remember, Remember

Oh look, it's Reginald's Elbow of Rooms fame(?) I'm assuming this was originally posted during November but who knows? After all, it makes no sense.

Rooms is 20!

Well, this is awkward.

It's Rooms 20th anniversary - an auspicious day - and all I'm uploading is this hastily cobbled together one panel monstrosity.

If you're thinking to yourself "Rooms deserves better!" then I agree. That's why I'm considering this whole year, from today, as Rooms' 20th Anniversary.

I've got a few ideas for how to celebrate but won't announce them just yet, in case I fail horribly to deliver. If nothing else, I do hope to put up one brand new Rooms story. Watch this space!

59.10: Brb

Turnus’ hair looks like Guile’s from Street Fighter in this one. His suit is also green which is the same colour that Guile wears (in his default costume) so I’m guessing this wasn’t accidental.

But yes, Chex’s slow descent into insanity has finally reached its inevitable conclusion. Well, it was only a matter of time.

59.8: Breaking Out

Wait… has Chex’s beard grown even longer? It definitely wasn’t this long, just a few strips before. I thought at first this must be because of the ‘three months later’ part of the story but that occurred before the last strip so yes, Chex’s beard is growing at an alarming rate.

Will this mystery be resolved at all? I’m guessing….no.

58.5: Vanished

I like quite a bit of Scandi-drama (The Bridge is the pinnacle of this) and it seems that so does the missing university student in this comic. The ‘Millennium’ poster clearly references the Millennium series of books/films of which ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is part (that’s her in the poster) but I have no idea what ‘Tog’ was supposed to be referring to. The internet isn't helpful on this one so maybe I made it up.

In this comic, I also use the technique Jjar used when drawing ‘Jump Leads’ of putting additional art in the characters’ speech bubbles. It works well here.

58.4: The President

Some nice location shots in the first couple of panels. Psych University feels like a real place in this one.

Reginald’s Elbow has changed since we last saw him. Not only has he become the principal at Psych University (I love how his desk is at ground level so anyone entering looms over him) but he has a new look. His beak and claws are a different colour and his eyes look completely different. This is based on me looking at real pictures of different parrots and going for a slightly more realistic look. I like it!

51.8: Siblings

I think this is the last time that these two characters ever share a scene, which is kind of depressing.

Is this because Rebecca dies tragically as a result of being fired out of a cannon? Find out in tomorrow’s thrilling (or potentially horrifically bleak) installment!
