While he's usually very excitable, he's still a trauma regressor and has times when he just needs to be cared for quietly and gently. Usually happens after something really sends his old Wasteland survival insticts into overdrive, or in the fallout of big blowout tantrums. Poor guy wears himself out.

That said, on very very rare occasions it'll happen seemingly out of nowhere, and Roadhog gets an affectionate, quiet little Junkrat without the usual tears.

He's usually pretty good at keeping himself chipper and distracted, but it does wear on him that he has such a hard time getting along with people. It gets to him more than he can admit, and sometimes he retreats into a corner somewhere he can be alone and unwatched.

First time he was like this Roadhog was grateful for the quiet but also rightfully concerned. He found him wedged deep under a bed, chewing his thumb and fiddling with a messily assembled new contraption. It took well over an hour to coax him out and replace the device with a stuffed animal.

Dim lights, big hugs, and lots of blankets and pillows are essential. He finds Roadhog's voice soothing. Stories, humming, and even placating hushes make a big difference.

It's a very bad day for little Jamison if he can't find Roadhog in a crisis, or vice versa. After a couple of incidents, they established the importance of Junkrat finding him immediately if he starts to feel this way, but if he's in a panic he sometimes bolts off to hide before he can think to do anything else.

He's just as protective of his cg as Roadhog is of him, and when he's especially small and upset he tends to get irrationally anxious. There have been times when he was so upset that Roadhog thought he must be hurt, only for it to become readily apparent that the boy was just terrified for him.

While he typically refuses pacis or bottles, he takes to them like a duck to water when he's like this.

Roadhog managed to get ahold of a star projector for their room and it's been a lifesaver. Junkrat finds the soft lights and slow rotation calming, and it's even come in handy for settling him on days when he's up and running. Roadhog isn't sure how he survived bedtime before.

Wiiiiide and unpredictable range of regression, from young toddler all the way up to teen ages, but he typically hovers around the 3-10 range.

CG is Roadhog! Junkrat didn't have a clue what was happening to him during his years alone in the Wasteland, but that changed when the pair started living & working together. Roadhog didn't know exactly what was going on with his boss but he picked up the gist of it and adapted quickly. As juvenile and spontaneous as Junkrat is when he's big, there was still something "different" when he was regressed.

For all his demanding bravado, he was initially very averse to any signs of "babying" or "coddling" because he saw it as a disguised threat, but Roadhog is a persistent man and god knows an unchecked Junkrat is borderline apocalyptic. His efforts were initially born from curiosity and necessity, but it quickly evolved into more genuine care for the boy.

Junkrat is a very messy and playful regressor, although he does have a quiet side that would surprise anybody who's ever met him. Desperately craves positive attention and playmates. He loves playing pretend and nothing makes his day like making Roadhog laugh.

LOVES to draw and color. He was so excited when he got his first crayons and markers.

Doesn't have very good literacy, but storytimes with Roadhog are his favorite. Bedtime stories are not optional. Sometimes, with adequate pleading and bargaining, Roadhog will even do voices.

Definitely a little collector. Bottlecaps, pens, nickles, crayons, even discarded receipts. He gets very attached and feels territorial about his little piles of junk.

Food is soothing to him since he grew up hungry, so it's especially important to make sure he's having his snacks.

Grows on you like a fungus. Can be very destructive and difficult to manage, but with time and the right care, there's a side of him that can be shockingly endearing. When he stopped seeing Roadhog as a threat and started feeling genuinely safe with him, a makeshift system developed in their relationship and everything clicked into place.

Constantly trying to burn off some of his restless energy, so he has to be redirected to more "kid safe" means of entertainment since his go-tos are inventing and explosives. He doesn't have a very good understanding of his needs during regression since he grew up so self sufficient, and if unattended he'll stay up for days on end distracted by exciting new projects.

He doesn't have a good grasp on his feelings (let alone what to do about them) and still has some nightmarish tantrums if the wrong thing sets him off. The worst ones were early on in their relationship when he was caught between confusion at what he was feeling and the desire to give in to the care and structure that was being offered to him. Growing up, violence was a necessity, and his first impulse is still to scream and lash out when he feels threatened.

Roadhog has slowly helped him find better ways to handle big feelings. He often has to be very stern with him to keep him from falling into those old defensive insticts (they've had the "we do not hit" argument countless times), but he also understands where they come from. Stern talks and time outs always end in soothing and cuddling.
