"3 Volleys" by Pepperboy

I’ve been a Pepperboy fan for some time now, but in my opinion, “3 Volleys” is his most exciting project yet. While most of his fans love him for his positive take on gritty street raps, his interest and repeated fixation on military history and culture is what I find makes for his most compelling music. The way he’s able to translate his unique interest into a conduit for his tales of the urban struggle is something I’m not sure any other rapper has every really attempted before this. While it may not have garnered him the most media attention or been the most buzzed about project he’s released so far, “3 Volleys” is certainly a special release, and arguably the unique, in the extensive Pepperboy canon.

"#LOVECITY" by Regula B

What the hell is "#LOVECITY"? Is it an album? Is it a mix? Is it a compilation of random tracks curated by Regula B? To be honest, I have no clue at all, but what I do know is that there is a hell of a lot of talent involved here. From Pepperboy, to Contact Lens, to Nag Champa, to Regula B himself, there is certainly no shortage of talented artists making contributions to this project. So while I'm not quite sure what to make of it, there is undoubtedly a lot of quality music to be found on Regula B's unique take a music release in 2013.
