✦ It is a miracle that you are dating this guy. Even if it ends in a break up (most likely) it's anyone's surprise that you lasted however long with Mordecai. His friends at the park are heavily aware of how badly his fumble game is.
✦ Hangouts/Dates with Mordecai can actually be fun; you two make plans over the phone and go out for a bite or to some location chat. If you have a love for a certain band, he works overtime at the park to get the two of you tickets with the best seats in the house.
✦ If you love video games, it's an added plus! Multiplayers, DDR, tabletop, arcades, VR? All are welcome towards him and his circle. Even if you don't play as much, he's down to teach you or send you a link to a guide.
✦ You two hangout at the park's house sometimes. You've gotten used to greeting anyone on the team who sees you and even when they poke fun at you or Mordecai, you're well enough to know it's all in good fun.
✦ One way or another you'll hear the phrase "Pulled a Mordecai", followed by the sound of mimicked groaning and laughter through the walls.
✦ Mordecai is laid back and depending on the conversation he can easily talk about it for a good while. If he doesn't understand something you're interested in, he'll probably take the time to know the basis of it and ask you about it overtime.
✦ Mordecai is awkward at times though, don't get it twisted. He'll fumble a sentence or joke when he feels like it didn't land, then awkwardly laugh before switching your attention to a different topic. If you point it out, he pretends someone is calling him and runs off to a different area for a bit.
✦ His love language is mostly gift giving and quality time. We've seen him make CD playlists and mixtapes, as well as try to gift things he'd think someone would like. Hanging out in person or calling on the phone for hours are counted as quality time—to the point that he has forces Rigby to take over some of his chores in the park.
✦ If the two of you get into an argument it takes some time for him to apologize. Not because he thinks he's in the right, but rather he's too busy thinking how he can talk to you without the Earth exploding.
✦ If you text him to meet up and talk, guarantee he'll come over with a pre-planned script in his brain and flowers. 50/50 chance he somehow made a deal with a shady guy and now the two of you are running to Skips for a solution.
✦ Not sure how many crazy things you'll experience when dating him or interact his group, but you somehow stand your ground in the aftermath. Just know that Mordecai is willing to pull up his fists and carry you out ASAP. He's not gonna let you just fend for yourself, even if you know how to fight.
✦ So, in my opinion, this relationship doesn't last; Mordecai is a chronic overthinker, so it takes some time for him to do something no matter the situation, no matter if you guys are solid (Unless you got some patience and balls of steel then bag that bird, gang).
✦ Him fumbling is no joke. He'll somehow think of 57 ways that things could go south and worry about scenarios that are either unrealistic or won't even happen because they're very out of character from who you are.
✦ He flanks out at the last minute if he's stressed out, sending you a short text like:
"Sorry, had to cancel because something came up"
✦ And when you go to text back or call him, there's no response. His phone is either silent, put somewhere else, or got destroyed cause he threw it to the wall out of fear. You get an explanation after the whole ordeal is over, which could be hours or days ahead of time.
✦ Do NOT get me started with his awkwardness about past relationships. If you and Mordecai went out in public and he sees a GLIMPSE of Margaret or CJ's features? You're getting pushed out the way because he acts like they'll shoot him up on the spot.
✦ Or worse, his overthinking department thinks that you'll break up with him on the spot, then the THREE of you will shoot him up.
✦ Rigby tries to get his best friend to think logically but it's one ear out the other. He has every right to go "Don't say I didn't warn you."
✦ So by the end of it, the two of you break it off. Depending on the situation its either handled delicately or you're rightfully chewing him out before going on with your life.
✦ Maybe when time passes will the two of you will could talk again, but it'll be awkward, and the chances that you'll stay friends is up to you. Despite everything, Mordecai is serious throughout the whole ordeal and will give you a heartfelt apology no matter what.
