She was sure they hadn’t meant to shatter her world with the update on what had happened while they were trapped. They only wanted to prepare her for what was going on and she’d been the first person they could step to the side. The Potters had lost their baby in the attack, or it is what could be assumed at the moment to put in the words of the one who’d given the news, and Dorcas had been arrested and taken to Azkaban. If you’d asked her hours ago what would have been the worst part of today her mind would have thought the collapse, that being trapped unsure with them would have been it, but now she knew better. She knew that it hadn’t been all that bad, they had each other through it and once Mary had gained consciousness no one was hurt to the point they had to worry about losing them. Now she knew that the worst of it was families being broken, the Potters were lovely people and their son had been ripped away. Doe, her sister, one that even if she was pretending to be on the other side she believed in more than anything was arrested and who knew if she’d see her again. She was going to be alone, without her family in one of the worst places that the wizarding world had to offer.
At Three Broomsticks, the pub that’d be the Order’s meeting spot and makeshift clinic to heal whoever was injured in the attack, the group shuffled in. Paulie stayed toward the back, she would have liked to be clinging to Fabian’s side for comfort, he’d been with her in the collapse and found out about Doe when she did, but he was Greta who’d hurt her leg and needed his support more than her at the moment. She’d find him later, she knew she would after all Doe was both their sister, and this loss that’d affect them both. Paulie took the opportunity of entering after every one to attempt to collect herself. She wiped the tears that ran down her face, her eyes were rimmed red and watery threaten to start crying again, but for now, she’d stopped. There wasn’t much else she could do to be presentable being covered in dust and particles of the building, blood probably coming from open cuts she’d gotten in the collapse those would be taken care of here she supposed. She stopped just after the entryway, scanning the bustling room, watching as people help the injured and as they reunited with those who’d just entered.
