So like, this is something that's always kind of irked me about the Western Reiki practice. Why yall all out there spreading secret/ sacred information when you don't know what you're talking about and there is a reason things are kept within the levels!?
Like reiki 2 is when you learn symbols but yall all out here showing the whole world and every occult store has them every-fucking-where! The reason you aren't meant to learn them earlier is so they don't become a crutch. I saw someone say reiki symbols are like training wheels, NO! That is not right! They are more like cheatcodes, like light switches that immediately connect you to that aspect of the energy. You should not get them right away or you'd never learn how to channel the energy properly without them; you'd think (as I've met some who do) you can't do reiki without them. This is dangerous, deceiving, and wrong. Besides the fact that the main ones have been kept secret within this semi-closed tradition for close to 80 years. So why are yall using them who aren't attuned, they will do nothing for you and you won't be able to use them or tap into that energy?! Why are all the explanations of each symbol so one dimensional? You do realize you aren't actually understanding the full power or meaning of these symbols from the quick guides people who are either reiki1 or have gone through a weekend workshop for all 3 levels are putting together. And if you've never been attuned or taken a class you really shouldn't be spreading reiki information, unless you can tell me 3 main differences between the Eastern and Western traditions and the real story of how Reiki came to Dr. Usui, not Takata's Christianized, white washed verson. Because if you can't explain something that simple, you can't understand the true essence of the reiki symbols.
....rant over I guess. This westernized bullshit just pisses me off. Yall've just got to take the few closed and scared things from a semi-closed tradition, that you can't even use unless you have been initiated and attuned to reiki by a reiki master.
