Philip stared in shock at the two humans standing before him in the throne room
This evening Kikimora had informed him about how two "wild witches" were pulled out of the water by the denizens of the aisles
While they were dragged to the castle, they both keep insisting that they weren't wild witches and to let them go
"You guys don't understand! We are not witches, we literally did nothing to deserve getting arrested!"
"It's true! witches can do those magical circles, right? We can't even do magic!"
Then one of the guards asked. "If you two aren't witches, then what are you?"
It was then when the guards took more attention to their ears, they weren't pointy, they were round!
They were still taken to the throne room, there was the possibility that they were lying after all
When he heard about them being humans, he started to form plans to make them stay at the castle and away from those witches
He doesn't know what he expected, but he definitely didn't expect this
They, both of them, looked so much like them
He snapped out of his shocked state fairly fast and asked. "What are your names?"
They both looked at each other, silently deciding what to do and looked back at him
"My name is Caleb and this is my sibling, their name is (y/n)"
Preluz au where Caleb and reader are reincarnated as siblings (Caleb being three years older), end in the boiling aisles years before canon (after the reader got shoved by Jacob, Caleb jumped into the lake/river to try to save them) and then they get to stay at the castle
Let's call it " reincarnated siblings " or something!
After a short explanation of how you and your brother came to be in the Boiling Isles, the intimidating figure known as Emperor Belos said something that Caleb misunderstood. He believed the two of you were now prisoners when in reality it was to protect you and him due to the nature of the Isles. Your brother went off, all while keeping you behind him protectively. He told the emperor that the two of you were leaving and he had no right to keep either of you there.
"Caleb, calm down-" you lowered your voice. "That's not what-"
"NO! I'm not going to calm down! We are not going to be treated this way! I am done with being dragged around and manhandled-!"
Belos stared at the man as he ranted on and on. A situation when he was young came to mind where Caleb went off on a priest who had agreed to take them in right after their parents had died. The priest was a cruel man in private and tormented the two boys to the point of causing Caleb to snap. Of course, he was beaten for this as punishment but it ultimately led the older boy to essentially kidnap his younger brother as the town believed the priest to be kind and just and make their way, unknowingly, to Gravesfield. Kikimora's voice snapped him out of his stare.
"How dare you speak to the Emperor that way-!"
"It's quite all right, Kikimora," Belos stood, staff in hand. "Clearly, our guests are tired and will need some time to let their situation sink in. Separately."
Belos had turned his head in your direction, causing your eyes to widen. Caleb's rant came to a halt upon realizing what the man said.
The coven scouts who brought you in grabbed Caleb and went to do the same to you as he was being dragged toward the door when Belos spoke again.
"Leave them. I wish to speak with them. Alone."
Hearing this, Caleb started to thrash harder, screaming at the top of his lungs as he was dragged out to the point that one of the coven scouts had to put him to sleep with a flute. Fear crept into the back of your mind as you watched your brother lose consciousness and be dragged out of sight.
A shadow fell over you and you looked up at the intimidating figure, his glowing blue eyes boring down into yours. His voice was soft, unfitting of his appearance.
"He will not be harmed, my dear. Neither will you. I assure you, you will be reunited with him once he has calmed himself. I am not your enemy."
You felt the bindings around your wrists come undone as Emperor Belos held his hand out to you.
"Come. There is much to discuss."
