In which Arthur is the farmer driving the blue truck, who stops the truck and backtracks when he realizes exactly who he just drove past.
Merlin has fulfilled his destiny. Albion is alive and beautiful, and magic is no longer feared in the land. He doesn't have to hide his powers and he doesn't have to polish anyone's armor. But then, at the signing of a document to commission the building of the first magical school: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Merlin is suddenly and violently jerked forward over a thousand years in the future. He has a new destiny to fulfill. Now he has to attend this school, hide the fact that he's the Merlin and defeat a Dark Lord that's messing with magic he knows nothing about.
After everything they’ve been through - all the lives they’ve lived, the battles they’ve fought - this really doesn’t matter all that much.
But it doesn’t help that the first time Arthur sees him this time around, he bursts out laughing.
A modern magical comedy very loosely based on Ugly Betty. Publishing king Uther Pendragon has had enough of his playboy son seducing every female assistant he has ever had so he hires Merlin, a man he is sure Arthur will never sleep with. Merlin would be more insulted by this fact if he wasn’t so busy trying to juggle his duties, save Arthur’s skin from ruthless fashionistas and keep his magic a secret at the same time. Expect appearances by oil-lathered knights, the occasional mad druid, a perverted Will and a mental caretaker who lives in the basement and keeps harping on about coins and destiny.
Merlin has always looked out for Arthur. Now it's Arthur's turn to look out for Merlin.
Summary: Arthur struggles with the modern world. Merlin struggles with Arthur.
Shortly after Arthur is resurrected in the 21st century, he finds Merlin’s vibrator.
That’s it. That’s the plot.
