Midnight Hawk Has Been Retired
The graded stakes winning Midnight Hawk has been retired and will stand stallion duties at Rising Sun Farm near Portmore, Jamaica, alongside stallion Rising Moon.
The now six year old son of Midnight Lute, out of Miss Wineshine (by Wolf Power) won the 2014 Gr.III Sham Stakes on the Kentucky Derby trail. He ran second in the Gr.II San Felipe Stakes (behind champion California Chrome), Gr.III Sunland Derby, Gr.III Illinois Derby, and Gr.III Razorback Handicap. He also ran third in the Gr.III Robert B. Lewis Stakes. His last win came in a claiming race at Belmont Park in September of 2016.
The gray Midnight Hawk retires with a lifetime record of 27: 5-4-3 with earnings of $591,750.
