I’ve been married for 6 and have a 5 yo that I homeschool. My husband is a trucker and is gone from Thursday afternoon to late on Monday every week. With that back story my confession is that a few times a month when my husband is driving at night I’ll tell him that Im going to bed earlier than I do just so I can get a moment alone where I don’t have to worry about my daughter or spend time on the phone with him. I love him but I need alone time to recharge and he can be really chatty lol
I can relate to that so much. My husband used to work Wednesday-Saturday 9 pm - 7 am (coming home Sunday morning). I was alone with the kids a ton (they were in daycare tho). He switched shifts so now it’s 5 pm - 5 am Sunday-Tuesday which has been a bit better. But still alone half the week.
You have to take some time for yourself! We’re only human. I think there’s nothing wrong with a little white lie to get you some you time.
Plus, kids are chatty enough! Everyone needs silence now and again!
