My gf's parents made her break up w me and pretend to be straight. She called me heartbroken over the phone. I'm shattered and I made the mistake of venting to my homophobic parents who said it was all my fault for "choosing to be gay" and exclaiming that's why I "have no friends" and that I have exams in a few months anyway. Her parents are the same way. I'm absolutely heartbroken. What on earth do I do now?

Apologies for the late response. I hope everything has turned out alright. If you’re still in need of advice here’s what I have:
If it’s alright with you and your girlfriend, you could try continuing to see each other without letting your respective parents know. You could also try telling them you both just want to be friends.
Anyone else with advice feel free to share.
to the genderqueer anon, i feel so similar. i’m a trans guy who hopes to have at least top surgery and t at some point in the future, and i always feel like i’m tricking people into dating me, and it’s really scary!! just make it clear to your partners about your gender and we’ll be fine xx.
Well said, thank you.
hi, im in a poly relationship that goes: A is dating B but not C or D, B is dating A and C but not D, C is dating B and D but not A, D is daying C but not A or B. (the whole thing is platonic except for C and D) i am B in the situation and i feel like i have lost feelings for C, but i dont know how to break it off. the main reason for a loss of deelings is a lack of constant communication but C has a very bad home life that could be causing the lack of talking. i still care for them but i think ive just lost the feelings but i dont know how to go about breaking up with them. (another minor and somewhat unrelated problem is that ive got a crush on someone else outside the polycule but you dont need to bring that into the answer) thanks for the advice
I think if possible you should have a conversation with them one-on-one first, and let them know how you’ve been feeling and what you want to do about it. After you talk with them, bring it up to the other people in the relationship. You could both go to them together, if you wanted, or you could let them know alone.
