even after moving countries; the idea of turning up to a blind date organised by new found friends had butterflies settling in her stomach. not for the first time that evening was renee wondering why she had even accepted this. well, she knew why if the growing homesickness was anything to go by.
thankfully, the bar that had been chosen was one she had been frequenting; it brought her the slight comfort needed. her hands brushed down the sides of her little black dress clinging to her curves as she stepped into the bar. the familiar music sounding out as the chatter of conversations continued in a low hum.
her eyes found her phone; the message that table three had been reserved stared back at her. table three was empty and she had to fight off the lump in her throat. she was early, that's all. renee was early for all things, and this time was no different.
renee brushed a lock of her blonde curls from her face before settling down; facing the door and placing her phone screen down onto the table. she forced her attention towards the menus before her as a way of quietening her own thoughts.
