Can you relationshipzone someone? Like you wanna be friends? Oops we're dating.
Story of my life
"Friendzone"
Okay, I know I've ranted about this before, but yet again, it's getting involved in my life.
LISTEN HERE.
Being in the "friendzone" is a goddamn compliment.
It happens to guys and chicks, but it actually doesn't exist.
I have an AMAZING boyfriend. He pisses me off a lot and our relationship is a rollercoaster. But I wouldn't leave him if goddamn Channing Tatum proposed.
I have an AMAZING best friend. And he relationship zoned me from the very beginning.
I love my boyfriend. I love my best friend.
BUT NOT IN THE SAME WAY.
My boyfriend is my reason for smiling and what makes me feel like shit. He controls my moods just by how many times he talks to me through the days. Seeing him makes my week, being away from him ruins my day.
My best friend is what makes these days bearable. When I can't see or talk to my boyfriend because he's sleeping between long shifts or taking care of patients. My best friend makes me laugh and smile and he distracts me.
My best friend likes me. LIKES me. But I don't like him like that. But I don't wanna lose him. This isn't me being SELFISH. If he fell in love with me and being friends with me hurt him, I wouldn't try to keep him around. But I love having him around. Its not the attention, its having someone who understands me. Someone I can always have.
Yes, if me and my boyfriend didn't work out and my best friend wanted a chance, I'd give it to him. Not immediately, but it would happen.
I WANT MY BEST FRIEND IN MY LIFE. JUST BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MY BOYFRIEND FOR HIM, DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T WANT HIM TO BE WITH ME.
"Friendzoning" IS SAYING WE WANT YOU IN OUR LIVES. JUST BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE THE SEXY FEELS FOR YOU, DOESN'T MEAN WE DON'T CARE FOR YOU.
And if you want to leave just because the person you like doesn't want to date you, you're being selfish. Don't become friends with someone to have sex with them or date them right off the bat. What if that person learns to trust you? Tell you their deepest secrets? Then you just leave because they date someome else? Do ANY of you realize how badly that can destroy someone?
Sorry, but UGH.
