Soft Hair's "Lying Has To Stop"
For fans of Connan Mockasin, Late Of The Pier, LA PRIEST, Let's Eat Grandma, Drugdealer, The Lemon Twigs, Cass McCombs, Blood Orange
Psych-pop: think of the late music gods, Bowie and Prince. Now imagine if they were still doing the same aesthetic today that they were doing decades ago with the same level of conviction and authenticity that they had in times past. That's exactly what Soft Hair are channeling in their self-titled album. Somewhat queer. Somewhat androgynous. Somewhat sexy and definitely weird.
Track featured on lechuga mix 2016/12.

SONG OF THE DAY: Soft Hair - “Relaxed Lizard”
A friend posted this on facebook and it ended up in my timeline, I was forced to click as I was intrigued (is a snake only a relaxed lizard that was so relax it expanded ? why are they wearing my favorite color all over their body ? do they realize that being somehow arabic, their band’s name is all the contrary of how my hair are ?), and it was the best decision of that day.
I really love that track, it’s sparky and enchanting. I pushed the repeat button a thousand times.
In Love had to follow, but my favorite one is Lying Has To Stop : it contains some glossy disappointment I’m really touched to hear. I love the voices (as always, the softness of the song, I don’t know, I feel really taken away by it. It’s marvelously sensible, the voice of Conan Mockasin is wonderful. There is a one hour version, to my greatest pleasure.
