Kids 4 Kids: Kids Fundraise For Yolanda Survivors
Typhoon Haiyan is the strongest typhoon ever reported in history. It hit eastern Visayas and has affected millions of Filipinos including children.
Most of the heartwarming stories of generosity come from children themselves and here are some of their stories.
James Ketcher sold ice candy to his classmates to raise funds for #YolandaPH survivors.
ice candies sold by James Ketcher
"The Grade 7 class of Mgis Manila sold goodies to their schoolmates today to raise money for our brothers badly stricken by typhoon Yolanda. James Ketcher decides to sell ice candies so together with Marky, they stayed up late last night to make vanilla and chocolate ice candies. They were able to make 80 pieces which they planned to sell for P10 (vanilla) and P15 (chocolate). They also made captions that read 'to help the victims of Yolanda' and painstakingly cut and taped each strip of paper to each ice candy When I picked them up from school today, James waves his empty ice candy box and exclaims "It's a sold out, Mom! We are making more this weekend and will sell again on Monday so we can donate more money!" Marky chimes in, too and says " My class (grade 5) will also raise funds on Wednesday next week and I'm selling ice candies, too!" Congratulations to the Grade 7 class for raising P7,000+ today. So proud of all of you!!" ~ Mariza Ketcher
